Regular layer 3 OW border editing

I know I need the following to edit layer 3 OW border:

Do I need anything else? Is the tilemap really need to be 2 KB?
If I'm understanding you correctly, do you actually want to edit the tilemap of the border itself? If so, go to the OW editor and see 'File > Edit Layer 3 Tilemap'. The option should be from among there. Otherwise, I don't know.

By the way, the graphics files must be 2 KB each, while the tilemap for a layer 3 BG is usually 8 KB at max.

Are you sure that's the only way? Is there no tutorial for this?
Edit: I stink. I edited the layer 3 tilemap like this:
1. Made a .zat file of the edited OW border.
2. Open Racing Stripe.
3. Edit the tilemap.
4. Save as an ExGFX file.
5. Insert the ExGFX.
6. Open OW Editor.
7. At the Overworld tab, select Submap Layer 3/Tilemap Bypass.
8. Insert the new tilemap at LT3 slot.


As a side note, LM's built-in Layer 3 editor will handle that just as well. It's under File -> Layer 3 Submap -> Load Layer 3 of Submap. Then edit that however you want, and when you save it, LM will prompt you for exporting the tilemap to an ExGFX file (which you can then set in the Layer 3 bypass for each submap).

As far as I can think of, Racing Stripe is no longer necessary for anything.
