wow, this looks like my worst nightmare! I'm gonna give this a shot, it looks like a ton of platforming goodness, which is good because SMW is platformer.

Currently working on:
Super Kekcroc World 3
Just as fun as the test playthrough, certainly a challenge but nothing feels tedious. Overall a lovely mix of ASM and level design #smw{:TUP:}

Thanks JamesD28! I certainly tried to make it feel full on chocolate regarding ASM but keeping it vanilla within the graphics.
Looks Like a nother Great Challanging Hack :D

It maybe only a Random Think but its Stil Nice to Have Every C3 a Challanging Hack like This :D

Thanks lordkronos. I often watch your playthroughs; it would be awesome if you make one for my hack!
For those who would like to take a look at the hack before playing it, N450 just made a quick playthrough of the whole hack. Here it is:

Awesome job! I never knew you'd been working on a hack.

I love those creative setup-based, fast-paced, fluid platforming™ types of levels, so this was so much fun to play. (it's on the hard side so I didn't make it past the first two levels without rewinds, but I had a great time playing the parts I played!)

This was a good hack full of hardcore platforming. Although I do not have that level design philosophy, I still enjoyed this hack. Good work, Darolac!

Yeah, the hack was more or less of a secret except for some playtesters and a single gif I posted on discord to get more playtesters lol. Glad you liked it.

I recognise the hack has a very specficic style that might not be the favourite of everybody, but I really tried my all to make it enjoyable. Thanks for your words.
Quality,creative and straight to the point level design, I like it sooo much #smw{^_^}

Also pretty nice to release the resources you made for the hack, awesome.

Whoa, this hack is amazing!

I'm especially impressed with seeing the Mini Chomp Sharks making a different map16 tile in some areas, and that has me wishing to ask you a question Darolac, did you insert multiple cfgs for the Mini Chomp Shark, or did you tweak the asm file to make it spawn any map16 tile depending on something like the extra bytes?

Either way, I might give your hack a go someday.
I Have Played Trough your Hack And i Must say it has a Nice Challange and a Great Flow Trough The Obstacles :D

Glad to see this finished in time for C3! This is a fantastic hack, and I'm happy that I got the opportunity to help with testing.

This hack shows a certain amount of of creative restraint in favor of pure, extremely fun platforming. I enjoyed the use of multiple elements, some with predictable actions and some unpredictable, combined to give a very skill-focused yet fair experience. If you enjoy SUPER or Slurdgery, or much of JUMP 1/2 for that matter, I'm sure you'll enjoy this hack.

This hack is entirely a left-to-right game, and it has quite a few autoscrollers as well, but I didn't mind at all, since this hack establishes almost immediately that the entire focus is on the very enjoyable platforming. This is the kind of hack where you don't have to necessarily "figure out" puzzles or setups, but you still have to constantly use your brain to figure out how to best parse the next set of obstacles. It's a very nice hack that I would recommend to anyone who wants to play something with a focus on great gameplay and strong level design above everything else.
I loved playtesting this hack! Hope everyone also have fun on it! #smrpg{:D}

Yeah, those use the extra byte to determine what map16 tile they will be creating. In fact all of the custom sprites in the hack bar the Fishin Boo use extra bytes.

I'm glad you liked it. Please note that I didn't release all the resources, since I would need to clean up the code of some of them. Will probably do it in the future.

Thanks to both of you for the playtesting, I'm very happy how it turned out in the end and its reception here during the C3 #smrpg{<3}
As someone who loathes kaizo and generally stays away from difficult or more technical hacks, I've got to say I loved this. The levels are unique, polished, and fully explore their theme without dragging on long enough to become annoying. Contrary to my expectations, I also really enjoyed the fast-paced platforming.

Thanks a lot Telinc1. I'm also not a kaizo type of guy, but I though the inclusion of the retry system would make life easier for those people that don't like hacks that are too difficult, since it helps a lot reducing the frustration on each try. Regarding the platforming, I'm glad you liked it, it took many hours and iterations of polishing and testing to obtain the final product #tb{:]}
All in all, a short but sweet technical hack. Some jumps definitively got troublesome but all in all, it's a rather easy hack especially if you play tight platforming, exploring various ideas. I'll have to replay it again for more criticism, though.

I think the difficulty varies a lot depending on the player skillset, since it's a hack almost exclusively centered around platforms. That said, it might be seen on the easier side of Very Hard by some players, because, in my opinion, some hacks labeled as Very Hard are on par with Kaizo if we consider difficulty over style - but I guess that's a discussion for another day. Thanks for your comment, MarioFanGamer.
This was a solid hack. well done!
