DAY FOUR
C3 is ending, and so are my rips...So let’s move to the grand finale. The moment you’ve waiting for! And to finish this spectacle...
I’m going crazy and post ten rips at once! Yeah, I’m not joking, ten rips!. Now, let’s take a look at the duo pack of Super Valis IV and Castlevania, shall we?
SUPER VALIS IV
Super Valis IV – Vecanti
The first stage of Valis IV from SNES. It’s a very fiery and simple background. I love this game so much, except for the unfair stages 5 and 6, but, oh well, it’s a very fun game if you are accostumed to games like Castlevania Dracula X.
Super Valis IV – Castle Vanity
An space background that uses parallax in the original game. Since I was very busy this week, I didn’t had time to make some parallax stuff, so sorry about that. Fun fact: I only noticed the “flying turtle thing” in the background while ripping it.
Super Valis IV – Babylon
This background fits perfectly for some kinda of mountain level or ruins. It’s a simple background like the first one, but this one has parallax in the original game. The mountains move at different speed than the walls.
Super Valis IV – Valhalla (Outside)
A very nice grassland background. It’s used in the fourth level from the game, where, like the name implies, your main enemies are valkyries. I already mentioned that the stages in this game are very short?
Super Valis IV – Valhalla (Inside the Church)
The background from the second half of Valhalla. It has some nasty Valkyries that spams infinitely and flies like Medusa-heads. It’s an amazing vitral background, great for some cathedral levels or stuff like that.
CASTLEVANIA SERIES
Castlevania: Dracula X – Water Ruins (Stage 5’)
This background took me a lot of time to rip correctly. Sadly, I only managed to rip one half of it. Konami and their magic tricks with these gigantic backgrounds. Since it doesn’t loop, I reccomend BG Scroll : None, None. It’s one of the most beautiful stages in this game.
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon – Machine Tower
A very simple background with lots of pipe that can work great in sewers or maybe an industrial level? Looping it took some time, but eventually, I managed it. Who would expect that this background is from a Castlevania game? Ah yes, this section has nasty medusa heads to annoy the player.
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance – Sky Walkway (First Room)
I was quite surprised to see that there isn’t rips of Harmony of Dissonance, but then I remembered that a lot of backgrounds from this game don’t stand too much, even though it’s one of my favorite Castlevania in GBA. This one had to suffer some color loss because it would consume whopping four palette rows, because of the painting in the background. A very nice background that can fit castle levels.
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance – Skeleton Cave A (Skeleton Glass Room)
Well, like I said, there isn’t too much cool backgrounds in this game, but then I found this simple, but effective background from Skeleton Cave A. In the walls of it, are Slogra and Gaibon skeletons. This one can fit some mysterious ruins or a tomb, maybe.
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood – Stage 3 (Giant Candles)
This simple and nice background is one of my favorite from this game. The infamous chapel room with giant candles. I was kinda sad when they changed it in the Dracula X Chronicles for some muddy cave and generic long candlesticks. And what is better than a beautiful and simple background? A beautiful and simple background that uses only one EXGFX. I wanted to rip this thing for so long. Also, the stalagmites use parallax in the original game.
You can download this nice stuff here.
And that’s it for my C3. I hope you all enjoyed the showcase of my rips and maybe use some of them in your hacks, who knows. Thank you for watching this show! Thanks for visiting my C3, and I hope you’ve had fun. The end!
OBS: I plan to upload all this stuff in the graphics section, but only after I fullfil my duties as helper. Some time after the C3.
