Original thread name: Scrydan does Datapack things to Minecraft - 1.16 Minecraft Java Datapack Requests

Greetings! Making this thread because I thought it could be fun.

Keep in mind I won't do every request and can ignore anyone who doesn't follow the rules. All good?

Now then, let's get into some fun things.

The other time I made a randomizer tool. Now, I will reveal some of the work I did on my datapack simply known as ScryWorld.

~== ScryWorld Datapack ==~

What does it do? Well for one, it tweaks loot tables (block drops, chest loot, mob drops, etc), crafting recipes, and so much more. It also adds in a couple of systems through functions. There's lots of helpful commands, and even some that makes it easy to prank people if you're into that. Chicken Spies for everyone.

Vault Storage System

It is quite a simple system. You use trigger commands to store specific items away. At the moment, in its beta state, there are no limits. There's plans to make it possibly require you to unlock more space via sacrificing materials or something. Open to suggestions.

How does it work?
/trigger tran_stone set 1 = Deposit 1 stone to the vault, it will keep attempting to deposit until the number has been reached. Then will count up your bank_stone for future withdraw. You can in a way make a farm that spits items at you and you'll deposit them all automatically. Again, this can be configurable in the future to be a one time request or only able to specifically do this under certain circumstances.
/trigger tran_stone set -1 = Withdraw 1 stone. Setting this number higher than what you have has no effect. Might as well be 0. And in the future, may do just that if none are found.

What are some of the things you can store? Most common items, and even liquid in buckets! Water, lava, you name it. This makes it REAL easy to suck up lots of lava in the nether and store the liquid away and not need so many buckets. And then hold an empty bucket and withdraw lava to be then used for furnaces. Real nice!

Again, this can be changed and tweaked to require buckets themselves to be stored...making it more expensive to store liquid. Or maybe make the option unlockable.

Auto Torch Placement

Are you lazy? Don't answer that. OF COURSE you are! Why go around and manually place torches? Why not let the game detect your light level and place it for you in a configurable light level detection (7-13)?

That's right. The system can let you know it is dark and you can auto place torches from your inventory. It is in the beta phase but it works fairly well. Only currently places it on a suitable ground block, it will in the future maybe attempt to do walls if you configure it to do so.

This also can work with your bank_torch vault so you can craft tons and tons of torches, and then go crazy and light up everything without fear. What a fun day it is to be lazy!

Helpful Recipes

Do you wish some materials could be more condensed or even uncrafted? Does that not make sense? Possibly, but think of it as jamming stuff together or magic. Yeah, let's go with magic!

Well several things have now been enabled for that. Wood items in particular can now easily be uncrafted into their basic component. And with trees dropping sticks, don't you wish you could like slam some sticks together into planks? Well you can! Because you're a Minecrafter pro, you know the secrets to jam two sticks together into planks. And take 4 planks to jam them back into a log. But you want a bark block? Well it can be used to condense logs. Takes 4, instead of 3. But also can be uncrafted into logs. Stairs, slabs, and many wood related things can be uncrafted into sticks or planks accordingly. Then that can all be condensed into the base material for easy storage.

Never worry about making too much, just...unmake some of it.

Break glass and various blocks without a care!

Want to move your window? Forgot your silk touch? Damn. You can't move that block, right? WRONG! You can even break it by hand and it will always drop the glass. Even via explosions.

Anything that would have dropped nothing that's not stone...now drops...something appropriate. Because that was a terrible design decision and I am correcting it.

Mob eggs are cool! I want one!

This is some dangerous magic, but you can craft these! You might need to kill lots of that mob first though. What can you do with an egg besides spawn a mob? Something possibly OP...but you will need to spend some serious work.

Mob Spawners are craftable!

This combined with the above allows you to make your farm anywhere. However, there's a serious price to pay depending on how it is configured. You may need to only spend a ton of iron...or maybe even netherite blocks? I am still thinking of a good way to make this difficult but fair to craft. The power of it is amazing, but I want to think of a fair crafting recipe. Currently, it only requires a block of iron and iron bars. But that's very easy. So maybe a block of netherite may make it more balanced?
Concept recipe:

Optional: Admin Only Bedrock Mover!

Would it be neat if you could pick up bedrock in Minecraft while playing survival? Well with this magical item...you can! This item works via right clicking and holding it down. It will break bedrock, stone, and other configurable things like nothing.

You will, however, need to be tagged/teamed as an admin (whichever is configured).

This could also technically be used in regular survival by regular players...so long as you trust them all well enough to not bedrock trap each other. There's plans to craft with bedrock as well, so if you got some suggestions leave them my way!

Custom Dimensions

Thanks to 1.16, this datapack has added several new custom dimensions. Mostly experimental of course, but there's one peaceful dimension which is always day and in caves no hostile mobs can spawn. Not even in spawners. (everywhere is treated as if it was 100% bright)

There's also...The Nightmare. Do be careful. You cannot pass the night in this dimension...it is always dark and always considered dark. Mobs spawned within here are super charged to kill easily.

There's also generated dungeon dimensions on my server (through a plugin) so you can like in an MMO fashion get a group of people to gether to tackle it for amazing awards to beat the harder mobs within.

And so much more!

I could probably make a wiki with all the information this datapack can do. It will likely be attempted to be split, or better yet...

...this is all configurable via a site download. You configure it, my site will then setup your custom download. So if you want to disable anything, it would be easy to do so. Or even just flat out customize it more to your standards.

This will work similar to Vanilla Tweaks, except in that this will allow you to make things customized EVEN easier. I'd like to know your thoughts. What are some things you'd like to see? I probably done it one way or another.

Request Rules

Right, now for the request portion of this thread. I will need everyone interested to follow the rules section or else they may not be done.

1): It must be something useful to many people and not too specific. If it does sound cool, I may consider it...but keep in mind I will likely reject the request.
2): It must be actually possible. This is obvious but if you make an obvious bad request without researching it being possible, it will be ignored.
3): You may request up to 5 small ideas, 3 medium ones, or one large idea. Could go for a 1-2 small ideas and a medium one as well. I'll decide whether or not it is worth my time.
4): After making a post here, and I think it looks good, I will let you know and you can contact me for further details.

I am also a site developer for this site, and do have lots of work ahead of me, so please keep that in mind.

However, if you got some fun requests please let me know!

I would also like to request that all requesters should check out my server to test some of these requests. Information will be given once requests are made. And if none are made, well I still got several ideas myself.

I don't play Minecraft game, but this sure looks promising, Scrydan.
I haven't touched Minecraft in quite a while but these seem pretty nice. I don't have any requests but good luck with any requests others may have!

Backloggery MyAnimeList
Well, i think that a new progression system would be interesting. I mean, it would be interesting for the player need to improve tools and equipment through ingots.
In favor of this, I believe that the possibility of receiving twice the loot normally would reduce the grind (ex: 1 log trunk = 8 wooden boards), although this would be more interesting with ores.

With the new update I discovered that the smithing tool and the blasting furnace have great potential, as well as the smoker. Stronger versions of ordinary mobs can be interesting, too (like a black widow or zombie-golem, nothing so magical just more HP and damage, really). Well, it's up to you.
Exclusive content and nostalgia!
Holy crap, minecraft can now do this with Datapacks??? I can remember the days of having to code everything using command blocks, and "only one command" commands were like everywhere to get anything close to this in vanilla. If I were to make one request, maybe make something like Tinkers construct, with tinkering with weapons and items? I have no idea how you would make this so it'd probably get rejected lol but that'd be really cool to see in vanilla. It's one of my favorite mods.
Currently working on:
Super Kekcroc World 4 (lol jk)
Now this is revolutionary... If i played often, I'd have a blast with this!

I always get back into Minecraft because of all the stuff you can do.

And now it is real easy to look at how you can make custom dimensions.

I have made a version of the Nether that is...interesting. But rather broken. And I can't seem to remove the nether roof despite the settings in place when using Nether generation. They say it is still experimental with how it works now.

Also you need to currently setup a command block to teleport to that dimension or use a dimension trigger command that activates:
Code
/execute as {@s/@p} in scryworld:the_nightmare run tp 0 200 0

To teleport to the dimension in the namespace of 'scryworld' named the_nightmare.

I can't even imagine what to request with this much content already in the OP. If I ever put my local server back up I'm certainly going to experiment with these. Great stuff!

This is a lot to take in, but there's certainly some things that interest me here like the craftable spawners. With the recent addition of netherite, it seems like just the right kind of material to make them craftable, expensive but worthwhile - and thus not OP or abuseable. Plus, netherite aesthetically seems like a great fit. That's probably the most minor thing in here but it's my favourite!

The peaceful dimension seems like my kinda world too. I like safety.

Netherite is a great addition to the game.

Not to mention, if I wanted to make it harder...I could make Netherite bars require diamond or even a block of it...if I REALLY wanted to get intense. Then it'd become the ultimate show off block in order to build. xD

But I think how it Netherite is created now is more than fine.

I'd love to test some more new concepts for the datapack to some unsuspecting fools lovely people. Heck, in one dimension, I thought about like making it "extra hot" and if you stay in the sun for too long, you burn up like a Zombie. And possibly make lava instant death...just for giggles.

Because I have a way to detect which dimension you are in...for the most part. Not a flawless system but mostly works as long as you don't direct teleport there, and instead use the functions.

I know next to nothing about Minecraft details, but this looks neat! A game editor for a game about editing and building.
Please pardon the eye.

I also sort of want to work on my old randomizer at some point.

But perhaps make it part of my tool to generate the datapack I have?
I think one direction to go in is just use a tool with many options to pick what you want.

And if you want anything in particular configured.

I also have a resource pack that makes crimson planks more red and some other tweaks. It also changes a "carrot on the stick" model to a wrench since I also got a red stone rotate tool (rotates other things too).

How about an addition to that nightmare dimension you mentioned... would it be possible to have a low chance of spawning ghosts of the enemies you kill? So you could kill a creeper, only for it to come back to life as a ghost. It would possibly share the same properties of the creeper you just killed, or it could be buffed or nerfed. Either way it would be super terrifying lol
Off-grid blocks should be really cool

Seems pretty interesting to do! I could like make some kind of "soul count" or something like that. Once it builds up, there's a chance of the souls merging into another of that entity and becoming even more super charged than usual.

Imagine a Super Nuke Creeper with a blast radius to remove a mountain. xD

Not entirely sure if I understand the request. It is also 1 am too. #w{xD}

I forgot to mention. If you'd like a test with some of these features, please send me a PM and I can invite you to the server to test them out.

While no download is intended for now, I do want to show it off.

I have some plans to maybe make a video or attempt to stream it on my Twitch. Not sure yet.

This is super neat, I really like the custom recipes including the mob eggs and spawner, tbh I think the egg and spawners should be craftable somehow in the vanilla game. I kind of wish I knew a bit more about data packs and how to really make them there's a few things QoL related that would be nice like treecapitator or making all the leafs insta break after cutting down all log pieces.
Once I get home from my trip though I'll need to check this out in more detail.

Yeah, I also re-added the recipe for Enchanted Apples. I mean, I understand the reason...gotta have more "loot stuff" to find.

But I think it isn't that far fetched to have a gold crafted item with gold blocks.

You know? I should totally do like a workshop or something like that.

Teach folks about commands, functions, and how to do some of the more complicated magical things. Like having the you detect your current light level.

The predicate system is rather nice. It allows you to even detect dimension...well, the normal ones. Sadly. They overlooked allowing custom values here... so you kind of need to set a scroreboard up to detect "what dimension" you are in based on some checks and also changing it when using functions to change dimensions.

Who all likes the idea of a workshop? I'd like to do something like that sometime. Or even something redstone related/mix thereof.

Also I was working on a system idea to allow players to sell their items to either other players or to "World Bank" as it could be called.

Similar to how server plugins typically do so, but perhaps in a better way?

Also maybe also auto generate a shop dimension that allows you to like roll "loot crates" so to speak. Aka, spend diamonds or emeralds, and generate loot tables inside a chest from dungeons, or any kind of table once you at least found one in the world naturally.

Oh and one loot table change I did was make all illager types drop emeralds and share a "base villager/illager" loot table for the emeralds and common stuff.

And Traveling Traders have a chance to drop a skulker box. I thought it made sense. (How do they travel so far and carry various things?)
However, those are always red. Because...you know what you did!
