I'm back. I missed two C3s, but to compensate, I have even less tilesets saved up for this C3 than I had in previous events! (I don't actually think that adds up...)
Everything in this post I've drawn DURING (or in the week after) this C3. I did make a tileset recently, and it was so cool that I even submitted it to the site immediately like an idiot instead of saving it for C3. Oh, well.
Here's the current lineup:
Do you like sand? If you answered 'yes,' you're lying.
Similarly to my first tileset this C3, I'd call this desert set a sort of "remaster" to the one I made back in the ancient era of 2018. The decorative bones are gone, but in their place are some SMB3 blocks that probably clash with the rest of the tileset. As you may expect, the quicksand doesn't work; you'll need custom blocks for that. Finally, the cacti look literally identical to the 2018 version, because I do not know how to draw them better.

This will probably be the last tileset I make this C3 in a theme that I've already done in the past. Instead, I have a list of new themes that I'm inspired to work on, so stay tuned for these upcoming hits:
- Temple ruins, starring everyone's favorite temple heads (see above)
- Toxic swamp/forest (which is kind of a theme i've already done but oh well)
- Factory/power plant
Cool stuff so far, especially the desert tileset! I love pretty much all assets in it - my one nitpick is I think the rock could use a lot more detail, its flat color fill makes it sorta stand out negatively from everything else.
The cave tileset also looks nice, but I don't think the very straight outlines in everything make a lot of justice to it. I feel like either making them wiggly or something akin to SMW's own cave's tiny rocks would add a lot to it.
I really like everything here, tho I gotta agree with Koopster that the rock from the desert needs something more to it than just being block filled with some shading around the outside. Like I'm not smart enough to be able to figure out what it needs but it sticks out too much right now.
I do like the range of objects you've drawn to use, from the colourful boxes, totem poles etc. Can make for some creatively designed levels for sure!
I actually like the heads. Really nice variety of assets in this one as well! I'm not sure how much I like the black outline in the top of the columns - it looks a bit off at first, but in hindsight it's a quite clever way of indicating solidity.
This new tileset took me a tad longer to finish than I would've liked. I need to stop getting sidetracked with the other C3 content!
My initial idea was a sort-of swampy tileset, but while making it I ended up just adding forest setpieces, so I decided to throw the two themes together! The poison muck is animated, and acts like lava by default.

(Yes, this means I lied when I said no more tileset remakes)
