It's less of a replacement to LM and more an alternative. I'm not planning on adding anything super crazy on account of it being open-source, but rather a more lightweight, cross-platform, and easy to use/modify package.

By the way, I'm almost finished with the object drawing code (just have a few more tileset-specific objects to implement). Then it's on to the sprites.
If you include a palette editor, and if that palette editor supports gradients, I suggest you base them on HSL rather than RGB.
