Just finished listening to most of these, and I gotta say they sound great! I remember your Ground Man port being used all over the place in hacks, so it's cool seeing the entire OST made in the same style. My only complain is @17 being used as lead guitar in Coldman, I don't really like it, but that's just me hatin' on @17. Some mixing could be better, but overall very nice job #smw{:TUP:}

The game was originally released on the Super Famicom (called "Rockman & Forte"), the GBA version is just a port of that game... so yeah, there's also the official SNES soundtrack you can check out lol
Nice SNES arrangement.
Aight, I fixed the SPC Player now; apparently the & in the file name was causing problems, so I just changed it to an "and" and it seems to work fine now; quite weird if you ask me, but I shouldn't complain tbh lmao

now that I slept well and I'm actually not feeling like a complete train wreck this time, I'm answerin' some questions:

Yeah, I didn't want to reveal what I was doing on SMWC, so when I linked that Cold Man VGMTrans MIDI I edited in response to your Cold Man port I didn't reveal what I actually wanted to do with it haha; it's also equally as funny to me that this happened as well :P

Kevin already said this, but the original game was actually a SNES, or rather, a SFC game since it was only released in Japan (very late game at that too, in, like, 1998 or something), and while I am using the name of the GBA port (mainly because I actually played the GBA version of this game first, and is the game name I'm the most familiar with as a result), all of the tracks are based entirely on the SNES versions, so there's that as well :P

Tbh, I also hate @17 something fierce, but I still wanted to try and make it sound good in a lead setting; personally I felt like it worked quite well, and even wanted to try it again for King's Fortress (since it also used a guitar sample as it's lead in the SNES original), but yeah, it didn't work out as well as it did with Cold Man haha; also I'm fixing some issues on the mixing/volume levelling eventually as well (since again, I need to make sure all these tracks work well enough in-game before submitting), so be on the lookout for that :V

Oh man those King's Fortress and Pirate Man ports are simply fantastic. Excellent work on these.

Hey check it out I made a level that got 104th place (wow he sucks!).
Oh man, it is hard to pick a good sounding port from here, as these ports sound great!

Well done on making them, man.
You did a good job with these Ultima, these are excellent renditions of the songs, man.
I am extremely glad I got to help you a bit with this project of yours. Having listened to the songs now I'm really impressed by these ports.
Really good work Ultima!

Good job as always, Ultima! I can certainly say that wasn't what I was expecting when I was thinking of a cover for your album, but it defied my expectations. I'll have to give the ports themselves a listen later.
I play forum games and draw furries. I'm mostly active on Discord and Twitter.

Aight, just released the thing in the section now; hopefully the mods won't fuck me up tho because I was too tired (and lazy) to check all the songs in-game to see if any of the SFX got fucked up, so I just slapped in a few w140s and 120s and called it a day 😔😔😔

Is it bad when I say that Mario & Bass is one of my favorite games in the classic Mega Man series? It actually seems to be pretty disliked, but I love it. The music especially is some of my favorite, so seeing you actually port the entire thing is pretty impressive. I've only listened to the first 10 minutes of the soundtracks so far and I liked what I heard, but I'm definitely going to listen to the remaining tracks as well.

Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Wow, that's a lot of quality and quantity for one single C3 entry.

I'm really loving all of these tracks, some of which I recognise from older, lower quality ports (which I'll certainly be abandoning now lol). Big props to you for putting this entire project together entirely on your own - I'm sure porting an entire soundtrack is not easy. Great work, Ultima!!
For someone who almost exclusively does sampled rock music you sure did a great job with these. Gonna echo KevinM with the sentiments regarding cold man but in general they're really really good! Happy to hear more of the vanilla drawbar organ.
and i'm glad i could get to be a part of this somehow

to hear birds and see none.
Good songs you crafted here and there! What's the most impressive about your work is that you made every single song from this game. Mega Man & Bass seems really hard even compared to other Mega Men, but it has such a memorable soundtrack, which is one of the best in the whole series. There's like no song that I actually disliked, unlike in Mega Man 7, which I've played (unlike MM&B) and where Auto Shop drives you insane when played for long.

The only thing I really dislike here is your use of @17 in King Fortress Boss. Electric guitar wasn't even used in the original version in that part and @17 sounds nowhere close to it. Not as much, but still glaring was electric guitar in Cold Man. Yeah, it was used in that part in the original version this time, but you could've used an instrument that sounds closer to original.

Either way, stunning job!

Yeah, actually, I isolated every single channel of that song while working on that port (y'know, just to get an idea of what instruments were used and how can I replicate them), and actually no, it does use a distorted guitar sample that's unique to that one song lol; this isn't the only time the composers do something like this though since Magic Man also had a similar thing going on with one of it's instruments, and even stuff like the File Select theme which was the only instance of a orchestra hit being used in the entire soundtrack, but honestly, while it wasn't the same sound, I still felt like it fitted the track well, especially in the 30 second mark where it starts to get all dissonant and almost cacophonic lmao

Also damn, people are really not liking the @17 usage here huh? Tbh, I did kind of expect people to not like it, especially with Cold Man since it was more of a test to see how well I could make that damn thing sound in a lead setting, but well, I shouldn't be too surprised, it does have it's infamy for a reason LOL

I mean, the ending of King Fortress Boss. Is this really guitar?

Here's a ripped version of the sample in question that the song uses (sample 34 in SPC700 Player); as you can see, it is a fairly synthy sample, but it does still sound enough like a distorted/rhythm guitar that one could percieve it as such
