Wow, it's almost like the P-Balloon was already in SMW! This is great, I love seeing things from SMM2 being ported to SMW.

I was expecting this. What I didn't expect is how accurate it has been recreated, even the animations. LX5 even answered me on Discord that it uses CC-DMA, something what isn't very often used.

Very impressive, great job with this! Kind of wish for a non sa-1 version, even tho I see the use of rotation and scaling, probably made with it.

Gotta say, I was blown away by the Yoshi's Island style graphic rotation. Always wanted to see more of that done in SMW, well done.

I might update it later when I have more free time. There's some stuff I want to add to it and a small graphical issue I want to fix (wrong graphics at the sublevel in the video).

I had a slight hunch you were gonna make the SMM2 P-Balloon when I first saw this topic (when I made my first post in the topic, I had thought that was a possibility, but I didn't want to say anything about the powerup unless I was caught by surprise. Dude, you definitely caught me by surprise here).

I'm just curious to ask if you're gonna include this with your custom powerups?

Also, while I'm thinking of it, does Mario retain this form if he goes through a SMB3 scrolling pipe, like the one HammerBrother made?

That's a interesting powerup. But I have a question, sorry if it will sound dumb, but since I'm not familiar with (I never played or watched Mario Maker 2 content at all): Is this powerup invencible? What are its weaknesses?

Well, it looks pretty close to the original, so that's nice.
This also makes p-ballon levels more interesting to design than the vanilla thing, so thanks for sharing #tb{:]}
Is it dynamic or did you find anoher way to manage to fit all that graphics data in the files?

It's its own thing, it doesn't require the custom powerups patch (and it doesn't fit in there).

- You lose it as soon you hit an enemy.
- You're also forced to be Big Mario when Mario is inflated, though in SMM2 you get back to Big Mario once losing the Inflated status. I couldn't recreate this so you get back to be Small Mario.
- It's weaknesses is that is kinda weird to control since you have to point in the D-Pad where you want to go, instead of them being used to control the rotation itself. It's kinda weird to explain, so you'd have to test this yourself :P

It's using SA-1's processing power in order to rotate Linear graphics (different format than the ones you normally use)



In the next version I'll address:
- Mario not bouncing back off walls when hitting them while going fast (ABXY pressed)
- SA-1 not being able to process the first frame before uploading AND showing the graphics.
- Add an animation when grabbing a P-Balloon.

I kinda rushed the release, I started it two days ago, that's why it has some issues haha.

I knew it! Or at least, I was very close.

This looks like a lot of fun to use and will really lead to some interesting levels I'm certain. Always feel like the P-Balloon gets little love in SMW hacks, since its controls were kinda janky. This, however, I'm sure will see some use!
