Hi guys, I really wanted to finish my hack before C3, however... due to the lack of free time (Aka: University exams) and the desire to not rush anything, I couldn't make it in time.
But I still have something! I made a special C3 trailer... with one problem... there were some space-time complications and the trailer got back it the 80s! It feels like an ad of some energy drink
Here's some new screenshots:
The hack is almost done, it's missing 2 major things: the final boss and the title screen.
I'm pretty proud with all the levels, I think they are all 90 to 100% polished. When I'm done with everything I want you to playtest the game Yeah, you . If you want to playtest my hack keep an eye on the forum here, I'll keep you updated.
I also wanted to thank the community both on the forum and on discord, always ready to help.
Let me know what do you think
(PS: I forgot to mention this before but: no SA-1 this time, so no more console problems )
I could play a whole hack using a real-time VHS filter and I wouldn't be satisfied. Your trailer is simple, but the details made all the difference. Although I expected a more saturated and compressed quality of VHS, but really, very good.
"If you imitate someone, you can never surpass them."
I like how different the trailer is (the 80s always catch my eye 👀). Simple, but catches the feeling well.
Your levels are also pretty clever. SMWC always has this great influx of dedicated kaizo hackers and you are one of them. Looking forward to see this thing released soon!
Man, all these ASM magic tricks coming out in Kaizo hacks. This one definitely brings a ton of imaginative stuff to the table like creating/eating vines, spring boards on rails, jumping skull rafts... It's way beyond my skill level and I don't think I'd make it too far, but I'd have a blast watching someone play it for all the non-stop action and wacky new mechanics.
I also love the style of your trailer. I just checked your main thread for videos. Top Gear has a soundtrack that slaps and that port is perfect. Great taste.
Just look above you... If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
The trailer really caught the 80s feeling. And the level footage really looks promising so far. I hope you'll find some good playtesters even if it looks quite well designed to me so far already.
Keep up the good work and looking forward to the finished result!
