It reminds me of Super Mario 3D World where some flags gives you 100 extra seconds. Of course, the difference is that there is no extra time, just the same time you started with.
This should actually be an staple in the future hacks. It's such a well though addition, well done!

Very useful patch! I probably will find myself using this.
My only question is will the music reset to normal tempo speed if you collect the midpoint after you've hit 99 seconds? If not, that might be slightly awkward but idk what you'd do to fix that.
