Yoshi's Island Styled Mario

Hi!!

This is my first hack, which gives Mario a Yoshi's Island inspired graphic set. I worked out all of the sprites from scratch so they're compatible both within SMW and otherwise. Included in the .zip is the original sheet containing all of the sprites, an .asm file to disable Mario's walk bob, the separate .bin files, the revised .pal file, and a .bps patch.

This hack REQUIRES the 32x32 Player Graphics Hack by Ladida and ExE Boss to work properly. Be sure to download that here!

Special shoutouts to idol and blminspace for help with getting everything looking as best as it can be!

He looks absolutely adorable in the screenshots! Looks like he would fit right with many of our more cute-looking tilesets. Looking forward to seeing pretty projects using this boy.

O this looks really cool :o I love the usage of silly but fun proportions, it really gives off that cartoony but cute yoshi island look. As others said I wish there was a few gifs to see it in motion but even just from the screenshots it comes across as really strong and expressive ^u^ Nice job!

i remember this awhile back... Glad to see it return and released! It looks really stylish 👌

Feels bizarre to see Mario looking like this but it reminds me a lot of how Paper Mario moves with some of the poses they make.
Pretty impressive getting the Cape Flying frames to look so fluid and pretty.

I am THIS tempted to use this happy chappy instead of Marisa in my hack.

I'll first have to compare it with AwesomeZack's version but so far, it doesn't look to bad.

Oh gosh, he looks awesome! I mean, naturally, the graphics don't fit very well into a vanilla SMW hack, but if someone would do a YI-styled hacked, he would probably fit quite well. Even more than that, I'd love to see this sprite used in an actual Yoshi's Island hack (though not sure how that could be accomplished). You definitely nailed the art style!
