Well now that I got the nostalgia out of the way it's time for one more thread.
The last thing I bring you guys this fine C3 is some SMB3ish OW graphics which are still in development.
Here you can see the main land mass but more importantly the water which is ExAnimation and has more frames then the original SMW water but cycles in a similar fashion. It's not the same as SMB3's water but I want to believe it looks nice and has a nice effect.
Next up is the level tiles which still uses the original yellow or red flashing colors, I only placed yellow ones for this cause I was lazy but they work find either way. There's also some small decorations like the flowers and the trees. I will be adding more like small rocks hills and I plan on adding larger hills too.
Currently I only have 2 land palettes done right now since they use a bit more colors then the original but I think I'm going to cut that back a bit to try and get some more color space out of everything. The desert palette isn't 100% done and some fine tuning still needs to happen along with adding the proper ground square for it. Also red level bonus
The end goal for this is to have a nice set of SMB3ish tiles to choose from with decorations and commonly used main map palettes, grass/desert/snow/maybe a fourth. There will also be cliff faces to make higher elevations to give maps more dynamic feels too.
This does disable path fade to and opens FG5 and FG6 though the extra FG space may not be needed in the end.
This is still very much in progress but I was making this for a hack and figured that if I make it I might as well release it once the hack is done. I would of had more of this completed by now but I'm not at home with a crappy laptop running linux and it does not like to play with Wine very well so certain programs either don't work or don't work right.
Any and all constructive criticism is welcome! Suggestions are also very welcome.
