And for my last thread I present some OW graphics!

GraphicsSuper Mario WorldScreenshots

Well now that I got the nostalgia out of the way it's time for one more thread.

The last thing I bring you guys this fine C3 is some SMB3ish OW graphics which are still in development.

Here you can see the main land mass but more importantly the water which is ExAnimation and has more frames then the original SMW water but cycles in a similar fashion. It's not the same as SMB3's water but I want to believe it looks nice and has a nice effect.

Next up is the level tiles which still uses the original yellow or red flashing colors, I only placed yellow ones for this cause I was lazy but they work find either way. There's also some small decorations like the flowers and the trees. I will be adding more like small rocks hills and I plan on adding larger hills too.

Currently I only have 2 land palettes done right now since they use a bit more colors then the original but I think I'm going to cut that back a bit to try and get some more color space out of everything. The desert palette isn't 100% done and some fine tuning still needs to happen along with adding the proper ground square for it. Also red level bonus

The end goal for this is to have a nice set of SMB3ish tiles to choose from with decorations and commonly used main map palettes, grass/desert/snow/maybe a fourth. There will also be cliff faces to make higher elevations to give maps more dynamic feels too.

This does disable path fade to and opens FG5 and FG6 though the extra FG space may not be needed in the end.

This is still very much in progress but I was making this for a hack and figured that if I make it I might as well release it once the hack is done. I would of had more of this completed by now but I'm not at home with a crappy laptop running linux and it does not like to play with Wine very well so certain programs either don't work or don't work right.

Any and all constructive criticism is welcome! Suggestions are also very welcome.
Nice graphics you've done! Can fit really well on SMB3-Styled hacks :D
Just some Ys fan lol
Aw, that's kinda cute. I like the little trees and how the paths look. #smrpg{<3}
Nice graphics you got there! It's always good to see more OW graphics.

I like the textures of the main land, as well as the water ExAnimation.
Those decorations are kinda cute, i look forward to what else you'll add to it

Thanks everyone I still need to get the shading on the little trees just a bit tricky with them being 8x8 and the level tiles might end up being part of the layer 2 and not layer 1 since having at least 10 level numbers is a lot of layer 1 space though I could use the left half for yellow levels and the right half for red levels. Either way people can decide how they want to place the tiles down
Looks pretty cool. I think I have one gripe though: The color inside the level icon, I think there should be a little more detail or gradient there. That's just me, it's just something doesn't seem right. Either way, not a huge problem. Looks great! :)

No you're right about the color, I did just use the normal flashing yellow/red that the original level tiles used so it is animated, but I think in the end I'll animate it closer to how SMB3 animates the tiles I'll just need more palette space to do that, and might need to disable the color animation too but I need to double check I can do that without messing up anything else.
im with Lotica The level icons need more detail

I can't really record gifs well on my laptop so here's a random gif I found of the animation I'm thinking of.

Would that be better detail Kind of have those 2 relative spots sparkle or would a different design be better?
Now that looks pretty damn good imo a nice improvement

I do like that a lot!

And do love the OW GFX as I do particularly like the level tile designs based around SMB3 from time to time. Excellent work, Ninja Boy! #smw{:TUP:}
