Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex-edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem. Not logged in.

That looks like a pretty good level gimmick. I do like the parallax scrolling in the background, and it seems like this is a pretty unique world.
I wonder what other ideas you have with this hack.

Trying out a new layout!
@Digital Entertainment: I guess I'm one of few who aims or a world like this.
Now it's time for the 3-Castle/Fortress. I did design the beginning part before heading into the fort with the wall kick that's merked. I even did the checkpoint area that also takes you to the castle.
My only problem is the organic fort/castle. I'll ise the original layer 3 organic FG and I chamged the organic FG a bit to fit the fort part also. Here it is:

With this upgrade, the BG uses a total of 1 GFX file.
As for the FG, it will be a pain, but I'll draw it. I just need inspiration first. Feedback is welcome.
I'll release the creation at the next C3.
Like the complexity and gimmicks keep it up

You are challenged by Champion Daisy!

@OBD: I just hope you'll like the entry I'll release at the Winter C3.
Still, thanks.
Now for some progress on my fort tileset. Since the BG uses the 8 colors of palette 4, while able to use midtapes and such, it means I can use palette 2 at my leisure.
I used the organic pipes from my organic tileset and drew sideways pipes. Also thanks to certain tiles repeating, I removed 4 tiles, in favor of more space.
I also added red pipes for eventual secret exit and did 2 animations.

Image is big, but it's there to show animation.
Feedback is appreciated.
I will take a break. I need to do something important first.
I did manage to finish the organic fortress FG. Didn't have much of an idea, but managed it at the end. You can consider this version 1. I'll release the next version at Summer C3.
Here's a screenshot:

The FG is finished. Organic arrows are present and the big tissue animates. The small versions animate, too.
I'm going to give a makeover to few sprites. I can't do all. I'm no animation expert.
As for the gimmick. Mario must grab caged or far away objects to advance.

Ignore that organic purple-marked block. That's done, but forgot to add it. Also, showing a bit more of the FG.
Feedback is appreciated.
Sorry for my 2nd post. I did redraw 3 sprites that have the organic theme. I'm showing 2. I won't draw much. You already saw the organic thwimp. Time for the organic thwomp:

At first, I thought it's good, but it seems to be red stone with the organic eye. Seeing how bad it was, I decided to give a makeover to a makeover. Here's the result:

This thwomp is much better and fits the organic theme. You're also thinking it gets angry and stomps the ground. Think again:

It's either an eye or a mouth. That's the angry stance of the thwomp.
Feedback appreciated.
Not a bad level is perfect;)

List Soundtrack - List Hacks
Now I'm doing the 2nd part of 3-Castle. The secret exit has been added here.

Here you see the organic mad thwomp in action.
Feedback welcome.
The new thwomp fits the theme better, but could use some brighter colors (like the old version) to make it stand out better from the tileset, as of right now it kinda blends in with everything else. It's not too bad but the more it stands out the better imo.
Here are 2 screens of section 2:

Mario needs that gimmick to advance.

Now he's here.
The organic palette has lighter colors and you don't see it, but the thwomp's colors are also fixed. Only the boss left.
Due to resource incompatibilities, I'm stopping the hack. This doesn't mean I quit. I'll either remake it better or use diverse resources for it.
Hey there. I am porting my hack to another ROM. Works great! I did noticed some changes in levels. Should be easily fixed. I changed the NSMBWii Status Bar to the Improved Minimalist status bar. The one with message boxes. Sure it's on layer 3, but layer 3 BGs are free. I must be careful with colors.
I changed the messages for each box, so that it use the new patch. Screenshots:

Feedback is appreciated.
