I used this android thing's voice-recorder to record one of my bands rehearsing some songs just for the hell of it. Turns out those things pick up sound much better than I would've thought.

Band: Møist
Song: I Don't Like People! (Warning, the F-bomb drops a few times)

Nerds:
Darren "Funky D" Evans -Drums
Yours Truly -Vocals/Guitar

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to sing well. I'm letting you know that upfront.

Project FeedBack - Chasing Memory

A game I'm working on, made this song as a placeholder. But I liked it.

EDIT:
Project FeedBack - Chasing Memory (Full version)

I dig the sounds and tune but the mix could really use some work. For one, the whole thing sounds somewhat lofi. I dunno if that's a mix issue or a render issue though. Also, it sounds like you're using some sort of stereo expander or something that's coming on too strong and making the whole thing sound thin. Use stereo expanders sparingly, get stereo by panning some of the instruments, or doubling up instruments with a small pitch difference. Lastly, the percussion is pretty low in the mix. Bringing that forward a bit (especially the kick) will tighten up the whole track and make it feel less muddy.

Overall I did like it though, there's just some technical issues with the mix that I feel hold it back. Keep at it, it takes time to learn how to mix well (hell I'm not great at it either).

Random composition, experimenting with piano + guitar

Not even sure if I'll finish this, also it's the first composition I've made that it isn't videogame related :P

btw sorry if the bass is too loud, windows sucks

I feel I don't need to give too much effort for the game that song is supposed to be played at, I know there will be lots of noise (it's a chase in a vehicle and stuff like that). I might spruce up some drums, but for the rest: I don't even know what's a Stereo expander to begin with. Not to mention... it's mostly presets.

Lively Lounge

i haven't composed much at all yet, but i'm very happy with how this one turned out.

I made a dumb electro remix of a song by a boring local band I don't even like so I could enter a contest to win my sister free tickets to see the band for a year. I'm basically the best brother ever. Anyway here's my remix of Leather Jacket by The Arkells.

no wonder I wasnt getting any replies to my "This Dream of Mine" thread. I'd posted it in the media section XD

So yeah, this.

I'd like to note that this was HEAVILY inspired by Waiting for The End by Linkin Park.

The square lead instrument that you hear is actually where Vocaloids are going to sing, so they won't be in the final version.

I'm actually looking for anyone with decent Vocaloid experience to help out.

Amyways, thoughts?

You have a somewhat catchy tune there.
The counterpoint in the two voices around 1:35 sounds very nice.
The distorted synth around the end is a bit odd but i like it... maybe it reminds me some avant-garde/chiptune music like Red Ankh.

I don't have any experience with Vocaloid or its synths nor even know someone with it :(

I just finished two compositions and I'd like to have some feedback, both are modulation (key change) experiments:

1. I did not make this with a clear scale or key, I used an exotic scale (can't remember which one) and changed some key randomly. After some bars I changed one random note in the scale; some bar after changed other note; finally returned to the second scale and finished the loop.
random001

2.This one uses only major scales, but it changes key almost every bar. It goes from A major to E and vice-versa, at some point it reaches the B... I can´t remember if this reaches F#.

Time to return the favor :3

1) Who needs sleep anyways? XD
This song... actually gave me the chills. There's that strange haunting feeling that something's watching you all the time when you listen to it.
At some point, it gets a bit repetitive, but with a bit of variation later in the dong, it could go places. Not kid places like Chuck-E-Cheese, but places. Other than that, very nice work.

2) I see it. Castlevania everywhere.
I absolutely LOVED the arpeggio the song starts off with. It suits very well for a dark, World-8 castle theme.
I'd like to note that the tune that plays bass and switches between 2 notes on 2 scales sounds a bit off in some regions, making the regions sound slightly weird.

All in all, I really like your work, keep it up!

Regarding my song, I decided to NOT use Vocaloid (because no money lulz) and use UTAU instead. I'm recording my own voice bank as we speak :)
Next up for recording is the girl in my profile picture, Anna. (Font ask how I'll get them.)

compreZZ

This is a experimental piece of metal, and lame FL electro beat. Well I tried my recording skills, and I think I did pretty good. I've recorded this with a real guitar and bass, just separately in tiny sections.

The Arpeggio Guy

Another song. Whoopdeedoo.

EDIT: Above link is obsolete, use this one.

This version is actually pretty back in terms of progress, and I already have made it sound much better, but I'm too lazy to render it just now. Maybe I'll do it later. It's a huge jumble of patterns and clips at the moment anyways.

Added some nice 8-bit effects. Pretty nice work, if you ask me.

The other name for this song is "Return to The Castle Of Funk". Bonus points for identifying the reference.

boo block:
I have never heard a similar combination. Probably percussion is not definitive, but it's a nice step to make something original, maybe a jazzy thing.

shreerocks1324:
I really like chiptune music! Your music could fit pretty well in an indie game such as Crypt of Necrodancer. Though, I don't get the reference :P
I song a made with MAGIX Music Maker.

Here's an acoustic guitar song I recorded.

This is the first public version of my track, I'm looking to port a more mixable version on my SoundCloud.

Conal Rhys Fawcett - Superlative Convulsion (Newgrounds Loop Mix)

Hey guys, I released a solo piano album a while back in an attempt to pastiche Ludovico Einaudi. Check it out. Free download :P
