Overworld map size.

Hey guys. I have another question.
I recently came here from using SMBX for mario editing, but they didn't have a lot of the sprites I love the most, so I decided to try this. SMBX allows a map that is 160000x160000 pixels.
Is there any way to expand the size of the over world map in a super mario rom? Its fine as is, but I have to crowd my levels a lot, which is uncomfortable.

It's an often requested feature (either in LM or as a standalone patch), but nobody's ever done it. It seems like the way the overworld in SMW is coded, it's much more trouble than it's worth.
