Overworld Layer 1 Events Question

At the end of my hack I'm wanting to erase the whole overworld with Layer 2 tiles, and I also want to hide all the level icons on the overworld map. Is there any way to make this happen?

Do you mean you want your hack to have no overworld?

Otherwise I don't know what you mean.

It's mostly from a visual standpoint. After beating the final level I want the Layer 1 tiles to not be visible.

Hmm... one option is to activate an event after the level is beaten and place layer 1 blank tiles over them using . However, layer 1 events need a screen transition before they show up, so that might not work for what you want.
