File Name: Remastered SMW Mario
Submitted: by DTA450
Authors: DTA450
Type: Original
Purpose: Player
Description: A modified version of SMW's Mario, that makes him look a bit more realistic.

You must use it with the 32x32 player tilemap patch (https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=21020), and with a patch that makes Mario use 5 walking frames instead of 3 (included with the graphics).
Infortunately, this patch prevents Mario from looking upward, but look at the bright side: Mario's walking animation is much more smooth !

Please give credits if used !

I'll have to reject this graphic, not only because most of it is a simple edit, but because of how the player sprite animates.

The first issue I see is that you sacrificed the "looking up" pose from both small and big Mario. I would reconsider it if the animation looked good, but that isn't the case. Small Mario looks so stiff and the animation does not look as good as original SMW.

The second issue comes from Big Mario walking. It's uncanny and because he turns his head for one frame, looks like he's wobbling. Somehow he looks even less fluid than the original Mario. It falls into Uncanny Valley territory.

Because it demands two patches and the animation doesn't look so good, I'm rejecting this graphic. If you manage to make the animation look smoother, I shall give this graphic another chance.
