Hello, I have applied the DKC status bar patch to my ROM. However, I realized afterwards that I wanted to change it a bit to show how many "star coins" the player has.

Should I just reapply the patch to my ROM or to use the unpatcher tool and then apply it again? I feel that if I reapply it without unpatching it, it would write the code in another section of freespace, effectively making my ROM have duplicate code. I do not want this. However, I feel that the unpatcher might also harm my ROM somehow. How do I go about this?

You should be fine just reapplying the patch.

All patches on here (that need free space) make use of Asar's autoclean feature, so Asar clears the space used by the patch before writing new code to a potentially different area.

You can press Ctrl-Shift-S in LM to see how much free space is left in the ROM. I guess it might fluctuate a little if you reapply a patch, but you only need to worry if the free space keeps shrinking when you apply it multiple times in direct succession. (again, though, this shouldn't happen with that patch.)

That's neat, I remember seeing a "autoclean" keyword in some patches, but I just didn't put two and two together lol.

Also, I had no idea about that feature in lunar magic; it sounds really useful. Thank you!
