Ori looks fantastic, but I am not familiar enough to want to invest in the collector's box. I will probably be picking that up very soon. I have also never played Disgaea but have known about it for nearly a lifetime - being so big into Final Fantasy Tactics and Langrisser, I owe it to myself to try it out. I love the art style too.

There are some other games that pique my interest in this Direct but I will need more information before I yay or nay it, so I will be waiting until they have been out for a while first.

Just look above you...

This collector's edition is something that actually annoys me to no end. I like to own all of my Switch games physically if possible, but buying this horribly expensive collector's edition is the only way to get physical versions of Ori. That really, really stinks. Selling physical versions as collector's editions only is a trend that really needs to die. Nintendo already did that with Bayonetta on the Switch (except that was even worse, because in that case, it was only the Japanese special edition that included a physical version). I think the Limited Run release model is the best way to handle physical versions of indie games: there is a preorder window in which everyone who are interested in a game can order it and afterwards copies get produced in just the amount that is needed to satisfy all orders (from what I know, games are usually ordered from manufacturers in increments of 1000). This model allows everyone who's interested in a game to get it while also not making it overly expensive. Yes, it does mean people have to wait longer for their games, because they have to be produced first, but that's a price I'm willing to play. That's a whole lot better than having to pay $150 for a collector's edition I don't even want just so that I can get physical versions of the game.

Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Geez, I am in the same boat as you. I would buy a physical copy if it weren't tied in with the cost of a collector's edition. The only collector's editions of Switch games I have do have physical copies outside of that, which is the way it ought to be, and those games I have a heavy love of the series they represent.

I don't like digital copies because I don't really own them... I just have a license to use it. If I run out of space, I have to delete it or buy more memory. Some digital copies are more expensive than some retailers have new or used physical copies for, too, which seems backwards but that's the way it is. Then, what if something goes wrong with my Nintendo account and system? I wonder how that would affect my ability to play the content, but I know if I lost access to my account, I can still pop a cartridge in and play regardless of if I have multiple systems beyond how many I can link to an NNID, or if I am using someone else's Switch.

I also like the cover descriptions, art, and cases they come with. There is nothing quite as nostalgic as reading the backs and remembering your feelings before the first time playing the game. I like just having a library of games, and find fun just in organizing them how I want to.

Limited runs seem like an alright idea. They put 'professional' shovelware on cartridges in the past, so why not something actually good by Joe Nobody?

Disgaea 6 is the only thing I'm really interested in here. I'm cautiously optimistic for it.
Rune Factory 5 is all i care about.
