I have no plans on releasing a demo this next c3, or even the summer c3 next year to avoid the same shit that happened with the nsmw2 demos, however, i will at one point (maybe once i finish world 6) post a demo in the beta testing subforum.

Real excited about this remaster! One of my favourite hacks of all time!

BTW is the music staying exactly the same? It's one of the aspects about the hack I loved so much.

If I recall correctly, some of the music is updated for better quality (ie the Crash ports), while some are changed entirely. Don't know how many tracks are actually staying put, though.

STELLA!
Well, it's been a long while, my last progress post here was back in December, i stopped working on the hack since then because i had to study for a very important exam back in January and after that i just became unmotivated to work with the hack. But now that's all past and i'm back and i just hope this thread doesn't become a graveyard of banned users.

4-5: Quicksand Path (formerly 4-4)

This level is mostly the same as before but the shattering blocks are now much more present in the level and they won't break if you have a mini mushroom, which you can find hidden in a cave in a roulette block.

4-6: Snake Block Pyramid

This is the level i spent reworking the most, the first and most noticeable difference is that it now uses actual brown snake blocks rather than those weird invisible snake blocks it had before. I redesigned most of this level and added a split path that leads to the two exits, the normal path is a redesigned version of the last room of the original level while the secret path makes use of some of the power-ups and ends in a treasure room (similar to the hidden one in the demo version of this level) where the third star coin can be found.

4-Castle: Locked Castle

Not much has changed in this one, i just decided to make the key gimmick a little more interesting and less forced

Well, that's really all i have to show, World 4 is done and i'll soon start working on World 5, one of my favorite worlds

Hello, Rilla Roo.

I'd like to give you a recommendation: On the map, when L is pressed, besides making Mario go to the Warp Zone, it makes the next level appear, which cannot be accessed even if beaten the previous level. The more times L is pressed, the more levels are unlocked and unable to access. The first time I played this game, that happened to me at worlds 3 and 4 and I had to start again. So please, fix that glitch.

Regarding to World 5: Forest, there are some suggestions:

Level 5-4: Forest Heights: I recommend replacing or removing the fire munchers from this level and any level where they appear because they are annoying since they move out of control and are almost impossible to avoid.

Level 5-5 Blazing Forest: At the beginning, there are some fire brothers whose fireballs are very difficult to avoid. When I played this level, they hit me a lot of times even when I was close to them without touching them, so I had to repeat it many times to beat it. I accept that I found the rest of the level a little easier. Therefore, I suggest positioning them differently and/or making their fireballs properly harmful.

By the way: Level 5-B, Autumn Hills, was one of my favorite levels of this game.

That's it for now. If I have another advice or comment about this SMW hack (which was the first one I completed ever and I loved it), I'll let you know.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if you played any of the demos i released last year but i removed the warp zone and moved World 5 to the area where the warp zone used to be to free a submap for a mini post-game world with two levels.

They will be removed, not only in that level but also 8-2.

These fire bro sprites were quite shitty but fortunately they were replaced by a better version in the sprites section. Also, that level (which now is 5-6 because Cherry River is no longer a secret level) is going to be massively redesigned, i'm planning on removing the cave section at the end and making the fire forest section the second half of the level, while the first half will be a new section inspired by a level from the winter 2016 demo called Deforested Zone which was later replaced by the casino level.

It's one of my favorites too, actually World 5 is one of my favorite worlds along with 7, 8 and 9 so i'll get it done faster.

For what it's worth, 5-5 was my favorite level in the entire game. So I'm absolutely interested to see what you'll do with it. I feel a burning forest level idea isn't explored very often and honestly I think it's unique enough where I typically associate it with your hack first before anything else when I think of games that utilize the idea.

STELLA!
I Can't Wait For Playing This Game, If This Game Was Released, Then I'll Upload On YouTube :D

BTW My YouTube Channel Is VIANYOGA 02, Im Not Playing Mario, I Just Play GTA, But I Wan't To Play Mario And Upload On YouTube
After taking over 3 months with World 4, it only took me a week to finish World 5, that's because this world was already very good and most of the changes i made were to make the level design more fair and less frustrating. However, the first change in World 5 isn't even in a level, but instead in the overworld.

As i said before, i moved World 5 to the main map in the place where that glitchy warp zone used to be, and to replace World 5's submap, i made a brand new short world to the hack.

This world only has 3 levels, S-1 will be brand new, S-2 is The Final Run and S-3 will be the credits.

Now on to the levels

5-1: Daytime Breeze

On the main portion, this level is mostly the same with the main difference being the fact that the super leaf is introduced here. However, this level has a new hidden section that rewards with a key that unlocks a special "mini-level" in Peach's Castle. There will be three of those levels and all of them will have a star coin. I haven't designed these yet, i'll do them once i reach World 9.

5-2: Abandoned Mansion

5-3: Mossy Marsh

Updated music

5-4: Forest Heights

Say goodbye to these stupid munchers. Other than that the level is mostly the same but i changed the aesthetics to fit this world better and changed the music to be the same as 5-1 (Pastel Wind)

5-5: Cherry River

Yes, this is no longer a secret level.

5-6: Flaming Forest

This is one level that really changed, i added a new section to the beginning before going into the burning forest (btw, this section is based on the demo version of 3-A). After that short section the level is mostly the same as it used to be but slightly shorter and way less spammy with enemies. I also think is worth noting that the appearing/disappearing flames are slower and no longer hurt you unfairly (the same happens in 4-4 and 5-Castle).

World 5-A: Autumn Hills

Now that this level is the only secret level in World 5 and 12-B was removed, World 11 is the only world to have a "B" level.

World 5-Castle: Burning Bastion

What i said about 5-6 also applies to this one, the enemy placement is a lot less spammy here and the ceiling is higher which makes a lot of jumps easier, thanks to the new status bar.

And that's all for World 5. World 6 won't take much long as most of the levels are fine, with the notable exception being the minecart level which will be replaced by a brand new level, and also i'll have some free time these next 10 days because my city will go on lockdown.

Thank you for that.

I found that level very hard because the mine cart sprites weren't the most appropriate, so I think it's a good idea.

I did, but I had the original game in mind to make my previous comment and that's the reason why I mentioned the warp zone. Whoops!

Say hello to World S

It looks pretty cool and seems to be a really interesting post-game world. I look forward to seeing how will be that new world and the replacement of Minecart Ride. #smw{B)}

Now, as for World 6: Cavern:

Level 6-4: Mining Station: I liked this level and it isn't so hard, however, I recommend removing the lights of the mine carts or replacing them with countdown numbers.

What I liked the most about this world were the power-ups Ice Flower, Boomerang Suit and Hammer Suit, the Crystal Palace and the songs:
-Donkey Kong Land - Kremlantis.
-Cursed Cathedral.

--------------------
Some small changes but changes I do like.

I can hardly wait to see 5-6, as that was my favorite level in the original version. I'm very interested in all the changes that were made there.

Great work!

STELLA!
It's interesting that you can post all of your finished stuff from world to world because creating a REMASTERED version is such a very tedious task. Keep up the good work, Rilla Roo! Can't wait for the finished product.

And yeah, the World S is a nice implementation. #smrpg{<3}

Also, LOL at the Koopa Fisherman in World 2!!
