Maybe after getting every yoshi coin in the hack something could be unlocked even if it is just changed music or changed colours on the over world hope this hack gets finished#tb{^V^}

To me this looks pretty dead at this point, but I suppose you could consider this still going; no-one said that the project would be canceled. I think ASM is the only thing holding back this compilation at the current moment, so if you are skilled in that area you could help finish this. If not, then I don't think there is much you can do here, considering that everything else is pretty much done.

if the overworld of the vldc11 was more like the the overworlds from wario land 2 or mario bros deluxe or Yoshi's island would that help with finishing the Collab hack.
I'm fairly certain that most of the overworld was made, and that it wasn't the source of what stopped this compilation hack in its tracks. ASM is the issue. While there are some issues with ASM that has to do with the overworld, the overworld itself isn't the problem, at least to my knowledge.
This might be a very late reply, but here goes. one more idea, maybe if the levels of of the vldc 11 ROM hack where put into a different hack like the vldc 9 Rom hack would that help it get finished.
All the levels are in a single rom, the problem is literally asm bugs.

Hello everyone! Here are some updates about the hack.

So, I have noticed that this project was kinda dead, and that nobody wanted to try and finish it.
That's where I come in. I have decided to pick it back up myself, and complete the hack.
Most of the overworld maps have been completely redesigned, since they're all a year old by now.
I have tried to make them look distinct from previous VLDC maps, as well as adding some asm and custom sprites, to spice the maps up some more.

I have also collected the songs and switch palaces that have been made for the hack.
Some maps still need songs, and one or two switch palaces need to be reworked a bit.
There are some annoying bugs that wouldn't otherwise appear in normal-sized hacks, due to the 'More Overworld Levels and Events' patch.
Those need to be fixed. There are other more minor bugs as well, but they shouldn't be that difficult to fix, I hope.

Of course, I still give most of the credit to AnEvilGhost for starting the project in the first place, and putting all the entries into a rom.
Without his hard work, this hack wouldn't exist.

I hope to finish the hack early next year, but i can't make any promises.

Don't take this the wrong way, it is very impressive that you managed to make the maps reflect on what is the standard of today for overworlds. However...personally I believe the more dis-jointed maps before showed the efforts of those individuals who attempted to make each map (and submaps), and while their styles may clash, there is a sense of collaboration with them. I also think they reflected the era of VLDC11 since that's when they were made (ok VLDC11 was 2 years ago, but the VLDC11 Collab started a year ago and the maps were made around the same time).

I am happy to see this return at all, so that's a plus. Can't wait for the final release.
