Hello, sometimes I find a web page that I want to save on to my computer. When I find one, I can open it in Internet Explorer, right click, and click "Create Shortcut". This will create a short cut to the web page on my Desktop where double clicking the icon will take me to the page in my default browser. Note that I do NOT want to save the HTML files directly, I just want to save a shortcut, which I have only been able to do in Internet Explorer.

Except now I'm starting to find pages in Internet Explorer where the computer opens the page up in Microsoft Edge and, in Internet Explorer, I'm brought to a page that says that the site doesn't work in Internet Explorer. Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to make a shortcut to these pages now? I can't find any options in modern browsers for making shortcuts to web pages, so what do I do?

Click the character on the right side of my layout to visit my Discord server and discuss and play and look at and get updates and sneak peeks of the games and other things I'm making.

The authors of these 2 My Little Pony fan games have removed their games from the Internet.

I don't want to save it as a bookmark, I want to save it as a file on my computer. If I save it as a bookmark, I can only access it from the bookmark menu. I want to access it from Windows File Explorer.

Windows is moving away from that including moving away from IE, your better off either saving the webpage as a stand alone (with all the html) for offline use or using a bookmark. Gotta adapt to the changing computing environment.

If you didn't catch it this isn't really an option anymore.

It's pretty easy, actually.

1. Copy & paste the URL you want to link to.
2. In Windows file explorer, right-click somewhere an select New > Link.
3. Paste the URL into the "location" field and click Next.
4. Choose a name for the shortcut.

Et voila, you have just created a link. Double-clicking this will open the URL in your default browser. In my case, that's Firefox.
