I recently *streamed for the first time on twitch for my birthday (playing Mario all day was my gift to myself). I want to improve my set-up. Is there a forum or directory with all the things I want to make my stream/twitch page look great; I got a buddy teaching on this but I'd love catch as much knowledge as I can. I tried google, but I am not getting the results I need to figure out what to download for things like an on-going play-timer. I feel like there is an easy resource I am missing out on.
Any suggestions? What do y'all use?

Probably you should gonna take a deep look into streamlabs dashboard or streamelements dashboard (you need to connect your twitch account onto these sites), in order to create your own layout for your streams (alerts, chat, donation goal, and another kinda fun widgets).
For timers of your on-going gameplays, you have wsplit or livesplit. (As an speedrunner, I use livesplit and most streamers/speedrunners use this last one).
It really depends on what sort of streams you want to create. For most basic purposes, something like OBS / Streamlabs is really all you need - it will let you stream, record, and even add special visual effects like a facecam, on-screen text, other images, etc. It might take some practice to get used to all of the features and settings that OBS has to offer, though.
If you want to get really fancy, a stream deck is useful for playing certain sounds/video clips for added special effects.
