[SOLVED] How can I make make a level background image be the image for the big main over world map?

I have an image that's being used as a sublevel's background.

What I want to do is make the big main over world map use this background. I set up the over world's GFX, I opened the background editor, copied the tiles using Ctrl + C, and pasted them onto the over world using Ctrl + V, but all I get is this everywhere.

What do I do?

I'm a bit confused here? You can't copy a level BG image an paste it to the OW...

You'd need to insert the graphics to the OW assuming they'd all fit and then construct it out of 8x8 tiles.

Actually, that worked. I figured it out shortly after I made that post. It turns out that the upper left tile in the Layer 1 Tiles list was opaque which had the effect of covering up all of the Layer 2 tiles. As soon as I made the upper left Layer 1 tile transparent, the Layer 2 showed and I fixed my problem.

You can. The overworld editor understands how to paste clipboard tilemap data that came from the level editor's background editor or Map16 editor, even between a few formats that you wouldn't normally expect (such as with pasting 16x16 tiles from the BG editor into the overworld editor in layer 2 8x8 mode). You just have to make sure to set the GFX files to the right slot in the overworld. Rather useful for copying ripped graphics or backgrounds meant for levels.

It's one of those lesser known features that have been around forever that you don't see mentioned much.
That makes sense, I figured because of the 16x16 tile vs 8x8 it wouldn't work correctly which resulted in the seemingly garbage tiles.
