so im assuming i need to make a .spc file for it?

also i beleive ill need to add some things to the .txt but im not sure this is my first go at this kinda stuff

edit: i went and zipped my resources so someone isn't blindly helping

No, actually, the .txt file is all you need - TXT files are the ones that AddMusic needs to insert. The SPC doesn't really serve any fundamental purpose other than to be used as a sample for showcasing your song, or for letting others know how the music will sound before they insert it.

But yeah, you will (100% of the time) need to rework the TXT file first. PetiteMM is pretty good for getting the melody to be somewhat close to the correct song, but it's not enough; you also need to assign instruments, optimize the music by adding loops, and make any other tweaks you think you'll need to make the song sound good.

I know that might sound complicated, but don't worry - there's a detailed tutorial on it here. Look through that for a bit and you'll get it eventually!

If you're not already in the SMWC Discord server you could always join and talk to the people in the #music channel, there's plenty of people there willing to help out first time porters

Hey Thwompz, if you think it would help, I made a couple videos that covers some of the basics in Wakana's tutorial. The production values are, well, bad, and how useful you'll find them will depend on your musical background, but if you're the kind of person who needs to see things in action to understand them, the videos might at least help you get a foot in the door.
