Block Dupes

Would the inclusion of a single block dupe move a hack from kaizo:light to a pit hack?
No. Super Dram World features a block dupe. I would recommend that you can reattempt it if you mess it up, especially if it’s late in a level. But it is a consistent trick without tools, so you should be fine in Kaizo:Light.
Reminder that block duplication per se isn't an indicator of a pit hack unless you abuse it in ways that are beyond our scope. One or two instances are fine in my book.

There are even normal hacks which encourage block duplication, albeit with special constructions where it's easy to perform block duplication (such blocks placed in a cross) and others even do it for fun in normal hacks.

The idea of Pit hacks is that they're very tight, unplayable without frame advance, unlike Kaizo which is either toolless or playable with some slowdown + savestates and block duplications is IMO one of the easier glitches to learn. It's only when there isn't much leaway, you might want to change that section, not to mention the use of advanced block dupes should be ignored anyway (such as remote block duplication seen in e.g. Item Abuse 3).

Lastly: Get some playtesters. They will tell you which obstacle is too difficult and which one isn't.
