Hey all,
I found this site back in July of last year, and I've had a ton of fun spending time within the SMW and kaizo community here and on twitch. I'd also like to think I've gotten somewhat better at the game myself. I'm really glad I found this place over quarantine.

This being said, after experimenting a ton with Lunar Magic over the last while, I'd like to announce that my first kaizo hack is currently VERY early in development, and share a few screenshots. It'll be called Lydian Mario World.

As said, the release will probably be a long time from now, but I hope you enjoy this hobby project of mine when it releases as much as I'm enjoying making it. A demo might be coming in the future too.

You guys rock! #tb{^V^}

~mod edit, made the images smaller cause they caused a lot of table stretch.~
This already looks like it has its own flair. The one thing I dislike about kaizo hacks is that they usually just throw vanilla assets together to make a level; of course the game has to be good if you're making it kaizo but I don't like completely foregoing the visuals department.

Good luck on your venture though! I definitely know how hard is it to keep a project going and I hope yours comes to fruition.
Thanks for the kind words! I have put a lot of time into my own custom assets. I totally agree with you in the fact that nice visuals and palettes are important for any kind of game.
Looking good so far, good luck with further creation. :D
Thanks Amper! I gotta say, playing through HYPERION has given me a ton of inspiration, mainly difficulty-wise and aesthetically. #w{=3}
I don't play Kaizo so all I can comment on is the visuals, but hey, those are looking really cool! Especially since you've been hacking for only half a year from the looks of it. I like how varied and unique the environments are - I don't think I've ever seen an SMW hack feature a greenhouse level, at least not with the atmosphere pulled off that well. Nice job overall!

It looks really interesting. I can't wait to see more!

I'm not a kaizo player but judging by the screenshots it looks well designed and i really like the aesthetics, specially in the last level.
My Hack - Beta Testing
Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Due to my inexperience in level design, I was contemplating not submitting anything to this C3, and was doubting parts of the project and its feasibility altogether, but these comments have helped somewhat with that problem of mine. #tb{:j} Also, I'm really glad someone understood the greenhouse aesthetic I was going for!
I'm really enjoying how different and distinct each environment is within each level.
I like how wacky things can get with the "Floaiting" Blurps as well as that first screen that looks like it takes place in some overgrown greenhouse. #smrpg{cool}
While there isn't much to go by right now, this hack looks promising. The aesthetics are quite nice and the design looks good from the few screenshots posted. Good luck on continuing to work on your hack!
Judging by the screenshots this seems to have a really unique diversity of level themes! The aesthetics look pleasant too, that 1st level is interesting. Really great job, specially considering how you started just half an year ago! #ab{:)}
Looks pretty nice, and I like how you have varied themes with some unique ones (oriental and greenhouse aren't very common).
Ooh this looks quite nice already. Gonna second everyone else and state the screenshots show very interesting and unique level themes, as well as their visuals looking pretty alright. It's cool you're going towards a good direction right in your very first hack, that's one great indication for your future projects. Keep going!!
Before this thread closes, I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone for the encouragement. This hack will still be a long time coming, but knowing people are looking forward to it will definitely help with development. Shoutout to RussianMan for his Chain Chomp Head, making a level around them was a blast!

Peace all #smrpg{y}
