To be honest I don't think Ye is as problematic as people wanna make him out to be. On the one hand Kanye has said some incredibly stupid and offensive shit that I do not condone and think he really needs to stop doing. The 400 years of slavery comment (which while Kanye didn't explicitly mean "SLAVERY WAS A CHOICE" that's how his statement read), the "Harriett Tubman didn't actually free the slaves" thing, aligning himself with people like Trump, Candace Owens (gross) and Joel Ostein (even worse), proudly calling himself the most influential artist of his generation and all his weird ass tweets are not a good look. That being said though it doesn't take a mental health professional to realize he's clearly been having a mental health crisis for a few years now. Not that it excuses his actions, but if you listen to the shit he says I don't think he genuinely believes any of it. As early as 2010 he was talking shit about Donald Trump and the American Government, but shortly after that he ascended to peak celebrity while coping with the death of his mother (something I sympathize with and understand all too well), mental health issues and on top of that he married into the Kardashian clan (Those people ruin lives and I'm glad Kim and Ye are getting divorced before it gets worse). After a certain point dealing with all that shit you go off the rails, you're out of control and unfortunately because of Kanye's status we all have to be subject to it. I'm honestly less hesitant to put all the blame on Kanye when he's clearly out of control and EVERYONE in his inner circle has been allowing him to make an ass of himself time and time again. Ye needs to hold himself accountable but clearly he isn't able to do that in his current state, so the people who claim they care about him need to step the fuck up. That's what I'd do if I had someone in my life I cared about deeply going down a path like this.
He didn't even tamper with the election that much even though 50k of his desperate stans voted for him.
And honestly if we're gonna talk about problematic people in the music industry, Kanye is low on my list. Chris Brown still has a career and fans even though he makes trash music and bloated ass albums. 6ix9ine is a fucking pedo and he's laughing all the way to the bank. XXXTENTACION beat and abused his pregnant girlfriend, made tweets about assaulting underage women, stabbed multiple people and has tons of footage of him beating innocent people. Blueface literally sexually harassed a stripper on instagram LAST NIGHT. If R. Kelly never got convicted his fanbase would still be loyal as fuck. I could name countless people including rappers that are considered untouchable like Nas (woman beater) or Jay-Z (you really cheated on Bebe?). Kanye doesn't do any of that shit, he's just a troubled loudmouth who makes music I and many people enjoy. Hopefully once his divorce is finalized he can get some help finally and get on a better path.
But hey what do I know, I just think he makes great music and I relate to the guy
