Slakkmichael's Princess Peach Alpha Demo - Winter 2021

Hello, and welcome to my demo of Princess Peach Alpha. A hack that where you play as Peach. I’m sure some of you remember the screenshots I showed off for this hack in the last C3. Well now, I have a demo ready for you all to try out. Just click the link here to download it. This only contains world 1. Have fun.

As mentioned last C3, the plot of this is that the Mushroom Kingdom is being targeted by an unknown threat and the Mario bros aren’t around right now due to them being away for the time being. So it is up to Princess Peach to take care of this unknown threat to keep her kingdom safe. While playing, you have Peach's floating ability, and the charge jump from SMB2.

One thing to note is that the tutorial level is locked for the time because I am still working on it. The only abilities you'll have are the float, and charge jump, which are easy to use. Heck, the second level teaches it as well.

If you’ve played my VLDC 11 entry, then this level should look familiar to you. Although, I’m not simply just bringing the level over to this hack. You’ll see what I mean when you play it.

I won’t lie, I wasn’t sure if I was going to submit a demo for this C3 due to both life and laziness getting the better of me, but I managed to pull the impossible. And I got to say, aside from the contest entries, this is the first time I’ve ever submitted a demo on the site, so I am a bit nervous. Anyways, let me know what you all think!

Mega Man X3 OSTs

I gave this a shot and it's pretty good. The levels are pretty well made and Peach's float ability feels good to use. I like the slightly-hard difficulty and Peach's abilities and health meter make the challenge a lot more comfortable and flexible. It was a really fun one-world demo.
There are only two real flaws I've noticed: this can often lag on SNES9x, particularly in "Bullet Hell"; and, in the same level, I super jumped past this overhang and got stuck.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Also, I did not realize that you could get yourself stuck like that. Thanks for pointing that out!

Never saw someone doing a hack with Peach's skills from SMB2, seems great so far! I also like how this gives a SMB3 feeling (like Pac's SMW Enhanced hack)

Thanks! And yeah, I haven't seen many people use them, so I wanted to give them a shot.

Looks like we're filling the gap to the hacks that have Princess Peach as a playable character. Ooh la la!
