Tip: A common level trope to avoid is "item babysitting". This involves forcing the player to carry P-Switches, springboards, or other items all around the level. Usually, this doesn't end up being very fun or engaging, so use another level gimmick if you can.

Almost 50 ports, that's impressive #tb{O_O}

Your ASM is also excellent. Your Overworld Warp Menu definitely is a huge quality of life improvement. Otherwise the custom layer 2 falls and the one hit ON/OFF switch are my personal favorites. I can imagine many various uses for them as well as for all the other presents you're gifting us.

Amazing as always Kevin! I'm really looking forward to all you releases (especially the ports) we're going to see from you this year! #smrpg{<3}

I agree. Uberasm is very versatile but it's still very annoying when some code doesn't work on it because of timing. Having that would allow for even more creativity with only uberasm.

Yeah, at least generators work fine in most other cases and they're easy to use :P

Haha I love the Star Fox Slot Machine song, I think I first heard it used in humour videos on youtube... It's so random I can't remember what that was. I remember it was someone attempting and failing at a game or something.

The Sonic boss music should be in shadow because it's too dark and edgy lmao.

I like the Ninja Warrior port, very aerial... Should fit with some cloud/pagoda-themed, fast-paced level. Very unique indeed.

I like the Coldman take. We received quite a lot of ports on this one right? I remember someone had done a full album from MM&B10. But everytime it is a different port and instrumentation, very cool.

The DKC2 credits. I only knew the Donkey Kong Land 2 version from Gameboy, seems like this one is much more ambient. But very cool to hear with those crystalline sounds. I love it.

The Ground Zero song is such a cool one for chases and tech levels. I now imagine some streamer showing a difficult Kaizo hack using this music.

I think I already heard Alcahest's God of Death somewhere, probably it is something popular among SMW hacking.

The Sky Fortress also is very aerial and I love it very much. Would fit for bonus or special levels.

The Bloodpool Casandora is amazing to hear, I love the level of detail here!

Fillmore is a banger, I enjoyed it a lot.

And of course the superb asm thingys, I feel like everyone said a lot about them; I sure enjoyed seeing them. Adding more flexibility to existing level modes is awesome and this carryable muncher def is cursed.

Oooh I think I’m gonna have a field day with all this ASM. Good stuff.

Knew you'd like them, and also thanks because you helped me find some errors in a couple of them. #smw{:TUP:}

Hack -1 2 incoming? 8>
A collection of stuff here. I'm really attached to that Mario jumping stuff there. Would prove to be a fun little gimmick if you were to have it interact with specific sprites, rather than all of them. Or maybe you could do all of them? Who knows. Great work!

tfw I still don't know why does the Eterna Forest port has so many tremolo commands 😔

pretty good stuff btw (at least in the music department)! definitely want to see some of these songs being released at some point (in particular Ground Zero from Contra III and The Guiding Fortuneteller from Energy Breaker, primarily on how nuts these songs are with their time signatures n' all that) :P

I like to use tremolo in general, but in this case it's because I had to remove the "wavy" loop from most samples to fit in memory, so to compensate for that I used it to have a wavy sound. Maybe I went a little overboard :P

Thanks! I'll submit a bunch of stuff later, I'm now getting everything together for submission (and have to fix all the in-game volumes, ugh...).
Amazing stuff. Mainly the ASM stuff that looks very fun, I'll definetely try out making a level with one of these, at least.

Also, you made very nice Actraiser ports and the EW2 ones looks great. Lorenzen's Soils is a very underrated track, glad you give attention to it. #smrpg{:3}
Thw overworld warp is a really nice idea

Some awesome stuff here. I recall seeing the extended sprite-block interaction in your BadLDC entry (though I think in that it was just the Chuck baseballs?), so it's nice to see it as a customizable code. The OW warp menu and fading lights are very nice too, and the carryable muncher is brilliantly dumb. Combine with the carryable cement block and players can build their own godtier kaizo levels in-game #smw{<3}
Oh, that's some great stuff you have there!
The Overworld Warp Menu and Extended Sprites Block Interaction in particular called my attention for their potential usefulness.

The OW Warp could be super useful for quick access to various areas in the overworld (a Top Secret Area like level, for example, for quick powering up), especially on big hacks with a ton of worlds. The potential to unlock new secret areas is also a really neat use that could spice up the way some hacks handle overworlds!

The Extended Sprites Interaction Uberasm could lead to a ton of creative gimmicks and setups with sprites activating blocks! I feel that could really help the level designer with setups to activate contraptions in a level without needing direct input from the player (kinda like in SMM).

Other stuff that called my attention are the Fading Lights and Sprites Jumping, both gimmicks that reminds me of Donkey Kong Conuntry levels, which could lead to a lot of cool SMW hacks using similar concepts.

The others just look pretty cool in general, although some seem to be a bit more situational (Like the Exploding Yoshi), but even those could end up leading to some cool levels.

That OW warp literally killed me. That is SO COOL! Great work, always excited to see cool ASM!

Currently working on:
Super Kekcroc World 4 (lol jk)

Pretty interesting stuff you got here Kevin. The fading lights and the overworld menu look especially cool.

Damn, you really did port Contra III's Ground Zero. Contra III's freaking crazy with heavy rhythms and it's nice seeing someone porting music from it! I'd be happy to port some others from that game as well 😄 let's have more of those!
I'm loving the Fading Lights one. The One Hit ON/OFF Switch would be interesting for puzzles as well.

This ASM stuff looks great! (I haven't listened to the music yet, but I'm going to assume that those tracks are good.) I may consider using some of your resources when I create levels, as it seems some interesting things can be done with them. Good work!
Thanks for the kind words, again! And about the asm, thanks for the compliments, I do hope to see it used in the future (but for good, not for evil #smrpg{sick}).

Should be easy to edit for only specific sprites with little asm knowledge. About interacting with all sprites, it's how it works currently.

Yeah, although that one was a patch that, as you said, only worked on baseballs. Also it was used in very evil ways (although I do like that level, after all). Luckily it was easy to port as a uberasm.

Yeah, although the port is not really submission-worthy. If you want to port more from the game, be my guest!
