Super Mario World: The After Years II takes place on an island called "Lunar" where a new band of villains cause havoc across the land. Mute travels there to solve Lunar's problems while also being aided by 8 spirits he can find during his adventure.
The land of Lunar is much more diverse in paths compared to the last game, and you'll have split paths that lead to entirely different worlds. It's up to you to go to the path you see fit. Mute's look has also been improved, showing to be a lot more expressive in his animations.
SMW:TAY2 has a sheer abundance of complex boss battles that can also be super massive in size.
Donkey Kong is the World 1 boss of Nova and the Dark Armour, featuring an original track written by yours truly. It's actually an updated version of the Idol 5 "VS Donkey Kong" composition, but massively improved thanks to suggestions made by Chaser the Ultimate Gamer. The actual boss is relatively simple, and is very much in a beta state.
More to come for the prequel to SMW: The After Years in the near future.
These were the two guest trailers that came with the direct:
A new character for 100 Rooms of Enemies: The Nightmare Edition approaches!
Boon from the 2channel collaboration series "VIP & Wall & ALASKA MIX" makes his appearance in our mega crossover. He is the 6th character we've fully revealed. Boon retains the physics of Mario, much like Demo from A Super Mario Thing. His soundtrack comes from various japanese porters and composers. If you're wondering about the rights to Boon, we've asked a member who has worked on the early VIP games and they gave us the OK. They are also excited to play the game themself.
I would like to thank "This Eye O' Mine" for all the translation work he's done for this to happen.
It's very fitting that Boon is in the game, considering he is sort of the grandfather who's inspired romhacks like A Super Mario Thing and the JUMP Team collaborations. We want to give Boon the same amount of love as all our other characters...
A new boss has also been revealed
This is Golden Big Boo, the nightmare ghost of the sea. He will only show up when you select Nightmare Mode, and needless to say he is a very challenging opponent compared to his normal counterpart. Mellon personally wanted to modify the boss further to give it some additional touches, but it's great we finally got progress in. We hope you're excited for when the other Nightmare bosses make their appearance.
And that was it for the direct.
