Don't forget the Super Yoshi Race theme, also!

is there any other themes you all feel would be important for smwc2 to have / ones that stand out amongst the bunch, aside from the throwback theme?

There are a number of themes I liked to use so I'll mention them
- Super Mario All-Stars
- C3 Super Yoshi Race
- C3 Modern Mario Theme
- Dated Night
- Dated Hex
- Dated Zelda

I'd love to see the "Peach's Castle" theme converted, though I can't say whether that's a popular one or not. I've used it for the past couple of years, but mainly because its colors work really well for me: they're neither too dark, nor too bright.

My eyes are pretty sensitive and I find that neither light themes nor dark themes are very pleasant for me (though if I have to choose between them, light themes often actually work better for me, so I'd like if we could get at least one light theme alternative to the current two dark themes the beta has). Peach's Castle has been kind of the sweet spot for me so far. It's neither overly dark, nor overly bright.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!

I've used the rain theme for years because it's so smooth, maybe that one? Also the SMM2 C3 theme because I know that one is also a favorite to many?
I wonder, are you guys interested in Nostalgia scheme-like total preservations of these schemes, or remakes in the new SMWC2 style? I personally love the disposition of boxes and such of the new site, and if it's a matter of just colors I'd much rather have just a background/color change than something in the style of Nostalgia, but I'm not the one asking for the old schemes so. I'm wondering.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
I think the main concerns with some of those who ask for the Nostalgia scheme are mostly because they are so accustomed to the default scheme that SMWC2 feels like an eyesore for them, so having something among the lines of what we have today with the current boxes and such is ideal for them. I don't think being receptive about the new design hurts at all, but in the same vein, going back in time may be satisfying.
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
For me anyway, I don't really mind the new design that much after getting a better look at it, so all I'd really want is the colors and background of the old schemes which in this case would be Winter

Yeah. This is basically my thought process for C3 Throwback. I just love the color and background setup for it.

STELLA!

I'll stick with regular SMWCentral.

In the future the legacy theme will no longer exist, if that's what you meant.

Nah, I'm just gonna straight up stick to this SMWCentral. Not the one displayed here.

What Katerpie’s saying is that eventually “this” SMWCentral will no longer exist at all, so you won’t be able to use it when that time comes.
just from looking at the interactive demo, has much feedback been given on the new post indicators? the red switch blocks for new posts in subforums doesn't make it intuitively clear that it isn't actually a new post in that forum specifically, if anything it highlights itself more than the normal new post indicators. i'm not totally sure how i'd change it, but the current red non-bold text indicators do function a little better for this purpose in particular imo.

since i'm sporadically active i don't think i'll participate in the open beta, but i like it! while the early 2000s acmlmboard crust has always been a part of the site's charm, it does look significantly cleaner - particularly in comparison to the current default theme.
I did give a little bit of feedback on the post indicators, though my opinion was that they felt too subtle. I think it was either to parse the old NEW tags at a glance.

it is a pity that this SMW Central no longer exists at least the SMWC2 can be good

For those of you who aren't currently participating in the beta, there is an option for a 2006 Nostalgia theme running in SMWC2. It's just that you can't see it without being in the beta, so let me show you a picture of the main page with it applied. It looks like this:

So, if you were gonna miss the classic default site theme, don't despair because we have you covered. While we said that not all themes were going to make the conversion to SMWC2 at launch, this is one theme we knew we couldn't do without. While it won't be the site's default any longer, the option will remain, keeping that classic old web feel while running on a more modern codebase.

so i can just turn on that option and treat this as a small little update?/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

It IS just a small update, at least for everyone using the site. Most changes are under the hood. Even the new theme doesn't feel all too different from legacy SMW Central.

If I get the chance, I will join :)
I know some changes in this world aren't always good, but I think this new design legitimately looks good. Can't wait to see it in action. #smw{^_^}
actually i'm fine with it as long as munchers still spawn randomly sometimes

if not i hope y'all get charcoal for christmas/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Oh lord, why oversimplify SMWCentral of all things?!

Anyway, I wish that the themes carry over, because they are the best things on this site.
