Truth be told, the snow might also look better if whitened up a bit. At present it looks just a wee bit too much like toothpaste. Mind, a toothpaste-based world would certainly be a unique idea...

Currently doing ExGFX Requests, please send me a PM, and i'll TRY to do what you want.
I really like what I've seen so far from this hack, but as the others mentioned there are a few cut-off tiles in the overworld. And speaking about the overworld, it's quite impressive! :)

The level also seems to be good, as I can see, it has a bit of non-linearity which I reckon it makes the level way more interesting. I'm against super-linear first levels, as you may already noticed. :P

Anyway, keep up the good work Jimmy! Can't wait to play it!

EDIT: What about the following names for your hack:

- Super Mario and Bowser's Shadow Return;
- Mario: Bowser's strikes back.
near the caste there a pipe but the pipe seem to bee not well placed il look like it levitate
Where is the water for the waterfalls coming from?

I do like the cliff icicles. =D

I usually manage to point out at least 30 mistakes on a overworld within seconds, but with your skills, Jimmy, I had to struggle to find this many.

If your level-design skills are as good as this, you have a huge chance to get far. :)
Jimmy, what about these titles:

Bowser's Come Back
Bowser's New Try
Bowser Strikes Back
Another Adventure

or think of some other titles. :P

The alternate world
I decided to go with "Bowser Strikes Back" Here it is:

(I didn't want to have to remove the "Bowser" from the Title)

Thanks for pointing those out. I fixed as much as I could:

I <3 the overworld. It reminds me of those seen in the DK Country games.

Here's a video of the first level of my hack. (Sorry about this largish bump)
I never knew that there was a "persisant bill" enemy. (0:52; 0:57)

--------------------
I love the concept, but the second part is really repetitive. Also, it seems like a level you would see further into the game rather than the first level.

I've removed my NoFades patch until I can find the brightness code for Star Road warps.
Don't worry, I've already removed that flying part (I'll post a video of the level later)

Oh! And I have a userbar now!

Copy and paste this code into your signature if you'd like to support my hack:

Here's a small preview of one of the levels in my hack. (Ignore the rapid fireball shooting, I'm not realy sure how that happened. It was probably a glitch in the AVI recording.) The music is Jolly Roger Bay from Super Mario 64. Comments would be appreciated! (Sorry about the crappy quality)
Well,
I don't like the matching colors that much, but the level looks pretty fun :). The purple and the background just kinda blend a little bit and it doesn't look attractive to me :P

Yeah, I know...I haven't updated this thread in like forever, but I have released a one world demo of my hack. It is available here. (If the link doesn't work, then it probably got rejected for some reason.) And also here's a recent screenshot of my hack:

Enjoy! :)
Ohhhh... great! Can't wait to check this out - I loved your graphical choices, the music you compose/port is great and you also code some neat custom blocks. The plot also sounds interesting, and I'm definitely liking the YI style of your hack. Going to give it a try later. :)
Hack got rejected because of slowdown. :(
