Shut Up And Fly - KLDC #8

(Can't believe I'm the first to make a thread here. That's an achievement to me since I'm a slow worker.)

This is my attempt at making a modern vanilla cloud and P-balloon flying level.

The first half will be about flying a cloud and the other with P-balloons. Both will involve powerups as well.

Aesthetics not final, although you'll have a sneak peek on it in the beginning.

also this is the floating muncher police here to take your floating munchers.

Quite the interesting concept. It's different to see a Kaizo level that is made around a more slow paced gimmick.
I like the fact the the player still needs to act quickly despite how slow the Cloud can move around.
I am unsure if that glitch that lets you go through walls whilst in a Lakitu Cloud is something to be concerned about but from how the level is looking it seems that type of exploit would not have that much purpose.

Very cool level. Reminds me of Mostly Harmless purely for the reason of that's the only kaizo cloud level I've seen recently. Definitely underused tech thats you've done something pretty cool with, I hope the P-balloon section turns out great too!

Using that exploit isn't my purpose. It should be impossible in the final product.

My level is nowhere as good as the one from Mostly Harmless, but thanks. Tried to use some underused techniques as well.

I (almost) finished the 2nd half a few days ago, but it had raw aesthetics. I wanted to record it with closer-to-finish aesthetics. Designing the final part of it took me much longer than I expected and longer than it should, starting with having no midway for it and finishing it after having decided to put the checkpoint.

Anyway, here's the clear video of it:

Alright, after being the first to make a thread in this subforum, through taking a break to finishing it after spending more time than I should have owing to not setting a midway in the 2nd section immediately, but rather after some time spent testing, clear video of the level is finally here!

You seem to be the first (to my knowledge) to use the clouds in a manner that's not breakable, so props to that.

The succeeding rooms are also cool, but what's the point of the eating block? I'm sure it doesn't do anything to screw the player.

If it eats the used blocks, the flower will fall, effectively making it a lot harder to get past, so you will want to avoid triggering it when you play the level legit.

I meant more in the sense that it's a breaking tool to get through walls constantly along with the balloon unless used legit.

Oh, I didn't see the flower. It's so well hidden behind the clouds that it's barely noticeable. A rope would make at least the bottom half show up.
