How can I make sprites 5B and 5C (the floating platforms) float in lava or tiles other than the water tiles?

...or sprite bouyancy doesn't work this way? :I

Lava (if it isn't underground lava) acts internally as water so they should work.

Unless you're asking how to exclude the platforms from interacting with water. Then it gets slightly more complicated.
