Thanks! I was thinking of making a placeholder for the @6 and just having musicalman either recreate the wave with either the d-50 (or maybe recreate using FM synthesis since it's a thought Pinci had its source derive from), or simply eq the in game sample while we wait for the official source to be found. The only lead we have is the preset was called "Clarinet" but no one's found which module it's from.
Originally posted by K.T.B.Hah, these are pretty great! I like how most of the tracks sound close enough that they could easily be mistaken for the in-game versions, while still sounding notably crisper. Good work on this.
Much appreciated! I was actually worried at first bc I thought I'd get complaints bc they'd sound "too similar" and while I have gotten comments like that, most comments I've had are positive and welcoming. Funny enough, the first one I did of Athletic actually got downvote bombed initially but after a few hours all those downvotes got deleted? I was confused since that was the first time I had ever experienced that.
Originally posted by K.T.B.I never really understood the hate against projects like this either. I like these arrangements, and I also like Brickster's arrangements - they're both quite lovely in different ways.
Never understood it either. People do things for fun and show their love and appreciation so why go out of your way and take time out of your day to harass/insult someone just bc they made something in a fashion you don't like? I understand criticism, even harsh criticism, but I did see some stuff without even any form of feedback to do better.
Originally posted by K.T.B.Would you ever reveal more information on what exactly these "source" samples are? I admit I'm a bit curious on that, partly because I think it's interesting to learn about what sorts of sample libraries are used by big composers like Koji Kondo
and partly because it might be nice to know in case I ever decide to throw together my own Nintendo-styled song. Someday.
Sure,
here ya go. There's tons more games too at the bottom to check, this is just the Mario section.
