Holy shit that’s a great find, thanks! To anyone still looking through this thread, there is a big update in the works which I’m hoping to release it some time after September. I’ve been working with some great people to help balance the game and make it much more enjoyable and fair for hard mode.

I had to make an account on here just for this alone: As a huge nostalgia nerd for the GBA versions, being some of my first video games as a whole (SMA4 Specifically), seeing the best of both worlds be merged- along with new goodies :D
I am curious- will the voice lines that Mario and Luigi had from the GBA version be a possible optional patch? I know the GBA quality of them was one of the reason people disliked them (Especially with how much they played in Mario 2), though they certainly added a charm that I myself am way too attached to (especially with Yoshi's Island and Mario 3 xP).
Whatever the case, I am excited to hop into this right now and play the hard mode right off the bat <3

most likely no, the voice acting or voice lines from the SMA2/SMW GBA version will not be added onto the SMW30 game

Bear with me guys. Still cooking up something to satisfy everyone will being fair, professional, and still very challenging (as well as fixing a ton of bugs). I hit an obstacle that stopped progress around July and expected it to be finished by September but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. I’ll post an update when I can continue.

Alright, I think the romhack is finished for its "refined" update. Just got 2 more people testing the hack. Hoping to release it on the 13th. This version fixes a lot of problems people had with the current version. Some changes include, giving the player another chance to be hit in hard mode vs automatically turning small, less enemy spam/generators, the hard mode behavior for many enemies has been slowed (this was the main problem as in later levels so many enemies being twice their normal speed with a one hit ko was a lot to ask anyone for and often fatigued the player), and various bug fixes/soft lock fixes. I took a lot of the feedback and criticism to heart and wanted to make something that was fun and challenging, not demanding. Ofc I also had a certain vision and while I didn't necessarily make every single change everyone in the testing group was suggesting, I think there were healthy compromises with what I wanted and what the general testers (and by extension the people who voiced their opinions) wanted. I hope this hack reaches a lot of people!

It's finally here! After much feedback from the April version and a lot of testing from great people it's finally here, the revised version of a long overdue hack. This has become my Cyberpunk, my Attack on Titan S4 Part 3 Part 2, my please just stop lol. With the feedback I got via pms and dms I decided to reach out to WhiteYoshiEgg for some pointers on what I could do to make the hack better for everyone, seeing as a Plumber For All Seasons is a hacked loved by the community. He actually went beyond what I expected and did a full play through and gave me his feedback. From there I made appropriate adjustments and dm'd testers he had experience with. After a small testing group, testing went for a handful of months. There were a lot of vocal and passionate opinions. Most were met, but some had to be met with some middle ground and ofc I had a handful of things I didn't want changed. A ton of bugs were found and fixed and wamo. You can get the update in the OP.

List of biggest changes:
-Enemy AI for hard mode was slowed a bit. Every enemy initially had twice their normal speed and in later levels where more enemies were around became too demanding.
-The bonus levels can be accessed without needing 100% completion.
-Message boxes with codes now are gold and sparkle.
-Dragon Coins now individually save upon getting the midway point or goal tape.
-More helpful tips pop up under certain circumstances to help explain how a gimmick works.
-Some bosses that had invincibility now have a sparkle effect to let players know they're invulnerable.
-Every level was reworked for had mode. Some are more vastly different than they use to be while others are more subtle.
-A "harder" mode exists for those that want to keep the 1 hit KO. The game explains how to activate it. This mode is treated no different than hard mode as far as the game cares so you won't lose out of progress from regular hard mode.

So I uhhh.... forgot one small detail... completing a bonus level before you find all 96 exits messes up completion checks (bc $1F02 gets an event bit flagged). Fixed.

EDIT: Aaaand there was another oversight again with the bonus levels not restoring your powerup status.... fixed -_-

Why all levels has two coin indicator on overworld?
I thought the second indicator was a moon indicator but apparently its wasn't.

Fixed several conditional bugs such as changing item block freezing if it falls out of Yoshi's tongue due to being hit by an enemy, nipper plants still being able to scare Yoshi while having star power, hammer and boomerang bro not having upward y speed when hit with star power, and added message to notify player what the 2 circles on the top right corner of the map mean (thanks for pointing that out rafaelfutbal). As always, update is in the OP.

Fixed an issue where Dragon Coins were not respawning after collecting them all, fixed an issue when turning while carrying a baby yoshi that's eating would kill you on the last frame of the enemy being "alive", corrected a slightly misleading message box. OP link has been updated.
