Tip:
One of the old games I've been getting more into is Guild Wars 1 thanks to my BF. It has some really fun mechanics that I really enjoy (like capturing Elite Skills) and while it has some flaws, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go, especially if you got someone to play with.

What are some old games you'd like to play sometime or would recommend to others?

Final Fantasy IX. The last PS1 era Final Fantasy game that I have yet to play. I have it sitting right here on my Switch pile, but it'll be a while before I'll get to it because my backlog is just so long.

I would like to play the Xenogears and Xenosage games at some point, seeing how Xenoblade is one of my favorite franchises ever, but I don't really think I'll be able to ever get my hands on them.

Maybe not exactly old, but I'd also still like to get into the Ys series at some point. I've played Ys Origins, but that's about it. Lacrimosa of Dana has been sitting on my shelf for quite a while now. I started playing it a few years ago, but never finished it.

Pikmin III, I guess. Never really gotten into any game of the series, only played the first one for a bit, but it didn't click with me. However, I did try the demo for the third game, and I really quite enjoyed it, so I would like to get the full version at some point. Don't know if it'll happen, but the demo definitely showed me that the game can be quite fun for me.

A lot of PlayStation franchises in generally. Spontaneously thinking of Gravity Rush, Persona, Near, Shadow of the Colossus and probably way, way more. There's a lot of franchises that seem really appealing to me and that I'm interested in, but since I didn't grow up with PlayStation, I just kinda missed them. I did technically own a PS4 since late 2016, but I never really played much more than a few Final Fantasy games on it. Now that I own a PS5 and enjoy it a lot, I'd love to change that. Especially Gravity Rush, since Sony has officially moved away from developing this kind of smaller, more experimental games, according to recent announcements and restructurings. Quite a bummer.

Maybe also a bunch of N64 Rare games in general. I only really played DK64 and that's that. On one hand, I don't really feel like giving Banjo Kazooie a try, because collectathons seem so exhausting to me nowadays. On the other hand, it's such an iconic gamae, and I just HAVE to at least try it at some point. If Rare Replay ever got a Switch release, I definitely would. Conker's Bad Fur Day is another one. It's one of my bff's favorite games, so I kinda just owe giving it a try to him. Also I kinda want to get into it just so I have even more ways in which I can make fun of the train wreck that was "Young Conker".

Honestly, I could probably continue this list forever, because there's just an infinite amount of classic games I'd still love to get into. But I think this is a good enough amount of the time being.

Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Where do I even begin?
-Conker's Bad Fur Day
-First 3 Megaman Battle Network games
-Pokemon Colosseum
-Pokemon Platinum (mostly for the distortion world)
-Super Mario Galaxy 2 (IDK if it's old enough to count but it's a couple generations back)

I'm kinda on the fence about DK64. It's a Donkey Kong game, which is one of my favorite video game series ever, but listening to reviews about its fake longevity and the final boss being insanely long kinda ruin my perception of it

Legacy custom music

I would love to play some PS1 RPGs not developed by Square, like Suikoden, The Legend of Dragoon, and Valkyrie Profile. Because I was more into Nintendo back then, I missed out on a lot of them, and I only played the RPGs made by Square. I got excellent deals on a bunch of these games at various conventions about 10 years ago (before they started to take off in price), but they've been sitting on my shelf ever since. There's just no time for me to really sit down and immerse myself in these types of games any more.
Honestly, a lot of PS1 games (mainly exclusive RPGs and some other niche games), since I never played many games on that console. Old PC games too, PC-88/98, MSX, Sharp X68000 and even Amiga, there's an amount of stuff I want to at least try out, I'm fascinated by those.

On more familiar territory, there's definitely a catalog of games for the SNES, GBC, GBA, DS, Game Gear, Sega Saturn, Mega Drive, PC Engine and Dreamcast that I wanna play at some point too.

Some to list from the top of my head: Tear Ring Saga (I haven't played many strategy RPGs honestly, so I need to fix that), Tempest 2000, Princess Crown, Parasite Eve, Power Instinct (whole series), Both 46 Okunen Monogatari games (the sequel was localized as EVO Search for Eden), Pu·Li·Ru·La, Brandish, all Square RPGs for the PS1 (as I've mentioned, I didn't grow up with that console, so I haven't played many), Phantasy Star, Breath of Fire, Ogre Battle, Nobunaga's Ambition, Bushi Seiryuden, most SaGa games.

There are a lot more, but I won't mention them all, this is just a little brief mention of some. I'm an old player at heart, so most games I show interest towards are old or are old-styled.

I have two very specific games in mind, being Kirby's Pinball Land and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (& Knuckles).

My interest in the first one more or less amounts to pure curiosity; it seems like fun and a nice way to pass the time. I do enjoy pinball games too, dating way back to my experiences with 3D Pinball Space Cadet on Windows XP. By extention I guess I could also try out Pokémon Pinball, which was on the Game Boy Color? It uses the same engine and everything, there's just a noticeable lack of Kirby throughout the whole game.

Sonic 3 is a different story, as it's the only game out of the original trilogy and Sonic Mania that I've never beaten before. I have a vague memory of playing a very short amount of it on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, but I feel like that shouldn't count completely since I never got anywhere with it.

What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?
I do have quite a few old games I would like to play, but the two that currently come to mind are Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island as well as Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, although I don't know if you would really count PS2 games as "old".

For Yoshi's Island, the reason why I'd like to play it is that I've heard that it's a super good Mario game, and it's really bizarre to me that I haven't gotten around to playing it as of yet. I also think the graphical style is incredible.

For Atelier Iris, I always saw my brother playing this game when we were kids, and I even watched him complete it. The game itself was amazing in kid me's eyes, and I'd like to come back to it myself to see if it really is that good. I do remember trying it once about two years ago, but had to drop it due to other things going on in my life. Currently it's my second favourite RPG, only behind PMTTYD. Is it fair to base favourites on childhood memories? I hope so.

A list of a few other old games I would like to complete, but am too lazy to give a reason on why, are as follows:
- Super Mario Land 2
- Wario Land 4
- Super Mario 64
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Hello. I'm Hatsune Blake. I do mostly SMBX stuff, but I am interested in learning Lunar Magic. Have a good day!
...HAH...HAhahHaha.... There's an entire Steam library backlog of games I wanted to play but just for some reason haven't.

Pillars of Eternity may be up there. It has certainly presented itself as an interesting dnd-ish RPG that I'd love to sink the time into actually figuring out but I just never had it.

Elder Scrolls Online, while losing interest among my group of friends that I used to play with regularly, has had some slight interest in the back of my mind and I'd hope to try to get back into it.

Maplestory kind of fits in that same field of ESO. At some point I would almost be interested in doing a Lore-run just to actually understand the plot of which ever character i'm playing as, that along with running purely quests instead of grinding so I can for once see how the lore plays out.

SNN really sold me on wanting to try the Calamity Mod of Terraria but I've been blowing that off since I feel i'd enjoy that more in a group and I haven't been making any attempts to find one, along with currently being stuck on this laptop that can barely handle tf2 let alone anything I'd actually want to get into.

Speaking of hardware Limitations, I'd love to get back into Elite Dangerous, it's apparently getting into a whole new phase, and again, I can't really open it atm.

Sonic 3 and Pokémon Pinball

Since you never played the original, I highly recommend you play Sonic 3 AIR, it's a mod that only works by buying the Steam version of Sonic 3, which makes it feel almost semi-official. It reworks the game into widescreen (like Sonic Mania) and also adds some new options and customizations, which are optional, but it's basically the ultimate way to play Sonic 3.

Also, Pokémon Pinball is super fun (speaking from really old memories though), I loved that game as a kid, it has nice music and it just plays good. There's a sequel I've never played on the GBA, but it doesn't seem to be as popular, since I don't hear people talking about it often.

I love Yoshi's Island, I think it's the best Yoshi game to this day, and the music and artstyle is amazing, the gameplay is great and it has a more balanced difficulty than most other Nintendo platformers. It's the perfect balance between not too easy or hard, it also has nice puzzles, gimmicks and cool level design.

I never played Atelier Iris 1, but I played the second game and I loved it, it really is one of my favorite RPGs based on memories, although it has been a really long time ago, it stood out on my mind to this game, I remember it being really great and the Atelier series is super charming, unique and fun in general, so I can't imagine the first Atelier Iris would be much different in that regard, so I think it's good to try it out anyway, because the games in this series are usually fun and easygoing.

Never played that, and I don't even know if I'd be much into it, especially since I'm not familiar with online games, but the artstyle is super cute! I always felt curious about trying it out honestly, just never did it.

Ohh right, I almost completely forgot about that mod! I've seen a friend play it a couple of times and it looks quite polished, so I think I'll be sure to keep your recommendation in mind.

Yeah, I noticed there was a sequel after doing a bit of digging on Pokémon Pinball, it seems just as charming as the first one. I also found out that you can actually catch Pokémon in both games, which really does sound like fun. Now I might just end up trying it out alongside Kirby's Pinball Land when I get the chance to play both.

I did play the GBA version, and yeah, it was incredibly fun. I also really liked the soundtrack, which used the same sound font and style as Ruby & Sapphire. Really hope they make another Pokemon Pinball some day.

A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), Majora's Mask, and I'm probably foregetting plenty of other titles.

I played SMRPG a long time ago, and I remember not liking it that much. In all candor though, I don't even remember anything about the game (with the exception of me not liking it) so I should probably play it again.
I just played the demo for the 2020 Destroy All Humans! (Remake?) And I'm now super hooked. I definitely gotta play the originals at some point.

I also need to play Twilight Princess at some point. It's the one Zelda game I've completely missed out on and haven't touched at all, which is surprising given how much I loved Majora's Mask and how much of a fan I am of more horror/gothic themes -- which TP definitely seems to have in spades.

Yes I know the text isn't centered, you can thank Twitter and the way they like to have the PFPs cut into the banners for that one.

That one SMW port of Last Battle from Romancing SaGa 2 managed to almost singlehandedly get me into the SaGa franchise, and I've played through the greater portion of said game currently. I also purchased RS3 and the Collection of SaGa for Switch to play the original GB games, though I have yet to truly start them. Other than that, I also have Final Fantasy 4,8, and 9, as well as Chrono Trigger, sitting in my steam library untouched, and would like to get to them someday, seeing as I've never really played a Final Fantasy before.
Some old games that I've yet to play that I would like to play?

Well, I have a bunch of games that I haven't even touched yet even though I have it, such as Genshin Impact, Alien: Isolation, Metro 2033: Redux, Star Wars Battlefront Two: Celebration Edition, and more; those are just some though that I haven't touched yet even though I should try them out.
I'd like to give Cocoron, The Krion Conquest, Journey to Silius, and Darkwing Duck a more thorough try.
I didn't grow up with any Megaman, Metroid, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and my amount of Sonic was tiny tiny with just Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast.

All those are considered staples of video games and I really feel like a caveman when mentioning I have not played them ahah.

I think out of these I could enjoy some selected Final Fantasy (I loathe ATB-based battles), and both Metroid and Megaman look like good platforming experiences.

Previously known as Darkslayer (2008-2020)

My video game resume
The First Doom Game: I've never even thought of playing this because of my distaste for first person shooters for how bland they have become nowadays. But I still feel like I should check it out the PC one, Because all the ports of it to other platforms are apparently shit.

Space Invaders: Of all the main famous arcade games I've played... Space Invaders is not one of them. Of course first time I came across the actual cabinet the fucking screen burned my eyes to a crisp for whatever reason! Thus since then I avoided it like the plague. I still have not played it to this day.... And I cant download a ROM of it. Because the only site I can get arcade ROMs from is now loaded to the brim with shitty, horrible,PC destroying pop-up ads and viruses galore for some deranged reason, Probably because of Nintendo trying their damnest to wipe every single last fucking Nintendo ROM off the entire internet permanently. I am still upset about this.
-Some classic 3D platformers, including Crash Bandicoot trilogy for PS1 (I played a few first levels in the first game after which I got lazy), Spyro the Dragon trilogy (also PS1), Gex, Croc, Rayman 2 and Donald Duck Quack Attack (which is a game I played when I was younger and I want to revisit it, I also plan to check PS1 and N64 versions to see if there are differences, like I did with 102 Dalmatians).

-Older Fire Emblem games. I really enjoyed Awakening and Fates, but I want to see how the older entries play out.

-Shadowrun for SNES caught my eye, it looks very interesting and unique.
Kinda noting this for myself as I'm writing this. I'm just very unmotivated when it comes to playing new games lol

My backlog:
Non-Steam
-Super Metroid
-Castlevania games
-Crash Bandicoot trilogy (maybe I'll play more if the first three are fun for me)
-Mega Man games past Mega Man 1 & 2

Steam
-Celeste
-Dark Souls trilogy
-Fallout: New Vegas
-GTA SA, 3, 4 and 5 (I've done a small portion of SA and 5, it's just I quit playing and never come back)
-Half-Life Series
-Black Mesa
-Trials of Mana (played some of it but I quit playing similar to GTA)
-Rabi-Ribi
-Risk of Rain
-Starbound
-Shovel Knight
-Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
-Tomb Raider (2013)
-Touhou Luna Nights
-Yakuza 0 & Kiwami

I own every Steam game that I mentioned. I just keep telling to myself to play the games on my backlog and I had the time to do so during my summer break, but IWBTG just kept me going.
