Tuning with BRRPlayer

I've used BRRPlayer to tune a couple of instruments but honestly i still don't understand it. So tuning was done by trial and error which takes a lot of time :). So here are some question:

- I've got a 32khz percussion sample that i want to play at exactly the same pitch as the original wav. What value should i use to tune it to C?

- The BRRPlayer Play button only plays the sample with the new settings once, after that it forgets the settings when playing. Is this a bug?

- What does "Sub." do?

- What are recommended settings to start with?

1000 should be exactly 32khz, so $07 $A8 at o4c will give you the correct pitch.

That happens when you use the Stop button instead of Pause. I'd recommend using the latter and then use the Key On button to play the note again with your settings. If it reloads the default settings, try changing anything (envelope, pitch values, note, octave, etc.) and it should go back to what you set it before.

It's the pitch sub multiplier. It will allow you to raise the pitch in smaller increments than the multiplier, so it's useful for fine tuning.

The default settings should be good enough.

The formula is pitch = frequency / 7.8125, so for 32000 it's 4096 (1000 in hex, as Tamaki said). To find the tuning corresponding to the pitch you can just use BRRPlayer and change the tuning values until it matches. For convenience I have this very simple tool to do the conversion.
I'm not so good at hex so both answers certainly help a lot.
The percussion sample plays perfectly now.
Is there an in depth guide to tuning various samples
