Hi guys! Me and Alex No have signed an agreement to remake the first Super Mario World: Master Quest by changing vanilla graphics into ripped graphics and add SMW custom music. I already finished 8 levels.

It really makes a world of difference the design changes. The stacked logs especially looked ugly, so those segments actually looks a lot better.

Design changes really make a huge difference.
But since it is a remake, you are planning to redo the level design too, right? Would be cool to play improved levels.

...who owns such an out-of-the-box copyright that if they have a hack, they may not get permission.

I've played hacks a few times from Alex Noe and I've heard of this hack name. So I went all the way, but it was so much fun.

The graphics, background, and effects that change significantly in the screenshot are good to make it clean, but this is done after consultation with Alex No.

It is loved by the most copyrighted Super Mario World on the site, so it always keeps what is precious.

I'm Alex No the Author of this hack. And I accept it. This looks good.
But add Layer 3 and Sprite Status Bar, so you can use Layer 3. And HDMA colors must be used. I can do that.

Yes. I asked because theoretically the terms remaster and remake are different. A remake is when you literally remake something, leaving a superior experience for the player.

A remaster takes something old and changes only the visual aspect, selling it as new. So if the original game has peculiar errors they are still present.

A remade version can still be faithful to the original game, but this will depend on the circumstances, especially on the direction of the project.

I made Super Mario World Master Quest when I was 14-15 years old, so this was my first SMW hack, I even found it before I found SMWCentral. So this hack is so old, but it’s nice to se someone revive it. That makes me happy. So if anyone want to make a remake of Super Mario World Master Quest 2, 3 and 4.(Original 2,3 and 4, then 5,6,7 and 8). Feel free to do that, but tell me if you doing that.

No problem for episodes 2, 3 and 4. But I'll see if I can use Lunar Magic to modify graphics for episodes 5, 6 and 7. For me, it's not really needed to remake the 8th episode, because there are already enough ripped graphics, exceptly if we can modify custom musics to make sure it's working perfectly on Snes9x instead to play always on ZSNES.

Ah, I forgotten to say you that by naming the remake of Master Quest 1 "Re: Master Quest 1", it was with a view to title of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (GBA) and Kingdom Hearts: coded (NTT DoCoMo) all two named "Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories" and "Kingdom Hearts Re: coded" on PS2 and Nintendo DS.
