A Plumber For All Seasons - Release Trailer (out very soon!)
I'll just have to mirror what everyone else has been saying so far about this hack.
I've enjoyed your projects all the way back since the original "Pokey's Adventure" as it was a big inspiration for me to get ideas from for my own hacks so I'll always appreciate that. Seeing the amount of polish got into this hack as well as seeing updates and asking for feedback via Discord has really made me excited for this hacks release.
Hoping it all goes smoothly and that others finally get to enjoy all the effort and passion you've put into this project.
This looks fantastic and really well-executed! Sticking with this for 9 years is quite a commitment and the creativity and polish really show, congrats on getting near release! I look forward to playing it.
This sure is the highlight of Day 1, argubly this C3.
The sheer dedication and skill needed to pull off a SMW hack that has many things in it that you personally coded, drew, and composed is commendable. I am looking forward to its eventual release.
-------------------- On Pixel Art Requests: I generally do not accept work unless I either have the time, if I see your project worth my time to contribute towards, and that is usually me doing the approaching to you on that.
-I also do not accept speculative work as I do have various art I made on-hand with me.
-I am more receptive to equivalent exchange of resources in which case, you can DM me wherever I have an active presence on for the details.
-Other times I'm availible for your project is C3 request threads I may run.
Watched the trailer, and as ever looking forward to the release. One thing that really caught my eye was that silhouette sunset level with the really cool realistic background! Looks like you've stuck a photograph into a hack (which is a good thing). Really admire your dedication to finishing this after all these years.
But with all that, good luck for the release tomorrow. I'll for sure be playing it when I can!
Seconding what everyone else said about the dedication it takes to see through such an ambitious project.
But what stands out to me is how absolutely beautiful what you've shown in the trailer looks. I am in awe at the skillfull use of parallax combined with the style you used for the backgrounds. Just, wow. In fact, as much as I tried, I couldn't focus on anything but the visuals while watching the trailer the first time.
While level design is more important than aesthetics and bla bla bla, I think there's also a special kind of area where this hack falls, where the two are both so well-done, and so skillfully integrated with each other too. From level design elements like the acorn footballs, to just how immersive the rain and parallax wheat field and shifting water surface and 3D lava are, it's just... amazing.
Nine years making this hack, huh? I appreciate your hard work and dedication. That's a lot of time investiment and it seems to pay off really well. Also, this is one of most impressive hacks aestheticaly ou there. Looking forward to it.
To make such stunning parallax, I can see that you poured your soul to make this a fantastic piece of art. Level design also looks solid. Seriously, congratulations for finishing this hack, wye.
