Super Mario: The Friends' Rescue is cancelled, BUT...

Super Mario WorldDemoScreenshots

Welcome everybody to my C3 thread!

In the last year I published some screenshots of my latest hack that I was working:

Super Mario: The Friends' Rescue

Which in the end of the 2020, ended up being canceled.
(Why did you cancel a hack that had good progress?) I just lost the interest in that moment, and my PC also broke.

But it's 2020.2 2021, a new year, maybe I can manage to do any progress in another hack when my PC returns.

Continuing with the SMW Hacking stuff, we already know that TFR was cancelled, BUT... in the past 2 months, Ive been working on a new hack called...

Yep, it's a sequel to TFR!

(But what is PU?) To answer that, we need to talk about ***...

With the first demo of PU already released, i'm also gonna share a surprise box!

It's good to see you've continued to work on a project with SMW after the older one was cancelled.
I'll be busy moderating any hacks that are released over C3 so even if I don't moderate this one I'll give it a go and try to get back to you with some feedback.

Also I really like those Muncher Replacements you have in the Night Time level screenshot!
It's a shame that Super Mario: The Friends 'Rescue has been canceled, but I'll play your other hack#smw{:TUP:}
Interesting change to Bowser from the SMW cartoons. Real nice.#tb{:]}
I like the art style here; this looks pretty neat. The screenshots don't share too much about what the level design is like, but I'll look at the patch you provided when I get the time.

Now that I think about it, I kind-of feel bad for always saying "when I get the time" in C3 threads. I suppose that will motivate me to fulfill all of my promises!
The new hack looks pretty interesting and seems to be fun to play, it's always nice to see more SMB3 styled hacks.
My Hack - Beta Testing

did anyone else try the patch?
edgar, I get stuck in 1-1 because the ground stays solid below and I can't head left nor right. In the part that's supposed to be SMB2's 1-1. What may I do?
A sequel to a cancelled hack, huh? #tb{:>}

From the screenshots it's looking solid so far! It's understandable to cancel a hack when you improve as a hacker and learn new tricks to put up your sleeve, and the new title screen does look more impressive than the old one. The title text and the machine really stick out which is interesting to look at. (maybe a bit too much even?)

Good luck continuing this hack!

There's a invisible vine to the right of the grass platform, maybe if I put some coins it will be more obvious.

Hmm yeah pretty please, I've mashed up and down and I am yet to find it - invisible stuff is neat but for the first level it's maybe a bit too much. I wonder whether I'm the only one not finding these things.
I suggest you use some kind of graphics to indicate invisible blocks, or even Exanimation. Anyway, you're improving a lot in aesthetics, edgar. I'm a bit busy because of C3 and moderation, but I plan to play your hack after the event, just like many other fun projects.

Well done! #smrpg{:3}

And since it's the last day of this C3, why not show yall a little sneak peek of 2-1?

WIP Hack:
Despite its initiative and the aesthetics being varied and colorful, the level design does not seem to be that intuitive. Instead of using invisible blocks, use dotted blocks.

I don't know if other people have already commented but I enjoyed the experience of your "surprise". I expected a joke, but it was much better than I imagined: beautiful graphics and tricky (but engaging) gameplay.

Keep going!
