This is gonna be very handy for newer SMW hackers. I especially like the scripts, they're gonna save a lot of time trying to type in stuff in every tool and mess around with directories.

I'm not super worried about that since there's nothing in this that is reliant on other resources directly. Also I use this myself so as long as I'm around and attentive to hacking changes I'll be updating it--one of the reasons I put it on Github is so I or others can constantly improve it too.

Wow. I never thought about it. My rom folder is a very unique kind type of mess. Only I understand what's going on. I might try to use this baserom template. Thank you for providing it. It will be useful for a lot of people, Ampersam. #smrpg{:3}

wow you did a great job amper! this looks very organized and immensely useful, and i love that its not just antoher baserom, but basically a baserom builder.

I'll probably use this in my next project as I'm still very chaotic with my hacks and copying and shifting files around endlessly lol

Those scripts look especially useful. Managing resources has always been a weakness of mine, which is why I never really did much "chocolate" hacking. I could've really used something like this a decade ago :P Excellent idea, and I hope people will make use of it!
Guess Im the only one who has organized folders, and each of my hacks has its own set of programs, and I also keep backup of the resources archives in case I fuck something up or need to check its readme or something, besides it's not the first time when something has vanished out of nowhere from the internet.

I also have batch/.bat file to run and insert blocks/sprites etc with one click, typing the rom filename etc gets tedious quick and, some command line programs quits instantly after doing whatever even if theres error which I can fix the batch file.

And for YASH since it was full-blown chocolate hack I just wrote down all sprites and recourses I wanted to use per-world basis on notepad and actually gave it some though before I filled the rom with random junk, I made the exgraphics for custom sprites for each world before I did anything else first just to be consisted, then edited sprites tilemaps and made sure they looked fine in-game etc.

This was mostly because before YASH I just had a single folder with 1736 files(+107 folders with even more files in them) in it with the oldest file(by me) being from 2004#tb{^V^}
You know, with the release of this base rom template and it's associated tools it's almost tempting for me to come out of SMW hacking retirement. But SMBX is where I belong now, for better or worse. Still nice job though.

I'm the same way hence this little project but I think that habit is harder to get into for a lot of people than perhaps you or I found it, plus I deal with computer files constantly in my IRL work so naturally those organization habits transfer to my rom hacking.

Yooo! Just what i needed.

I recently started to dabble and poke around in Lunar Magic for fun and started with the RHR base room to get myself going.. and i found myself exactly as you said, not being sure what was already included and how things were already set up, i will 100% be having a look into this to hopefully start my own rom-hack creating journey.

Thank you <3
