I'm here for the first time at C3 so it's not a big thing I can contribute ... just a little gameplay trailer of the hack I'm currently working on (Vanilla Shakedown). #w{=3}

Feedback is always appreciated #tb{^V^}

For your first C3 contribution, this is pretty incredible! #tb{:)} It's a very well-edited trailer.

The level design looks like it borders on Kaizo, which isn't my area of expertise, but things look very well-thought out and interesting to play for those who have the skills. #ab{^^;;;} I'm a fan of the graphical style too - it's not your average "vanilla with a twist" but decidedly more experimental and visually interesting, almost reminding my of abstract art.

Good luck with this project!

OMG dude, this looks incredibly fun and the aesthetics are so pleasant. Can't wait to get my hands on it XD. Great job!

Holy crap, this looks awesome!

I'm not too big on kaizo, but I think the aesthetics and creativity on display here is enough for me to make an exception. All the HDMA gradients and transparent objects really make this stand out.

Can't wait to play this!

Not a big thing? What do you mean? This is looking incredible! Nice trailer, I'm enjoying the aesthetics, honestly different from any hack I've seen so far. The gameplay looks fun too, I can't wait for the full release, keep up the great work!
Yooo, some pretty wild aesthetics here! I'll definitely be looking out for this one.
I'm a sucker for wild tilesets made with vanilla graphics and I really like what you're going for here visually, but some areas look a bit jarring to me due to the background being too bright or noisy. The lava place and that one background that uses OW trees, in particular, would benefit a lot from some toning down I think. On the other hand, some areas seem to have multiple types of foreground at once, of which some stand out more than others. Generally the transparent rocks are the hardest to notice (I love them though).

Good luck with your project!

This hack looks like it has a lot of character (although I think some areas are a bit too visually cluttered for my taste). Still, it has a great vibe and looks pretty fun to play. Also, nice editing on the trailer.

Check out my WIP romhack!
I have to agree in that there is an abuse of transparency and decorations in general. In several sections it's even hard to notice what's on the foreground. I loved the aesthetics in general though, it's just that in some levels it seems too much and distracts overall.
This looks like it's going to be a pretty unique romhack with aesthetics. I also would say it gets rather busy at times, it's been effing up with my brain while watching it (the rhythm music didn't help either).

What I have enjoyed most is your palette work, especially the yellow and purple level.

Also I wanted to mention, you might want to add a Kaizo/Pit tag to your thread because from the looks of it, the gameplay is going to be Kaizo.

My video game resume
The aesthetics are so funky I kinda really like the transparent objects found within some of the levels.
The levels themselves look rather challenging which makes it even more impressive to watch them be cleared so flawlessly and precisely.

I'm not big on the harder hacks but what you've made looks pretty cool. #smrpg{cool}
good trailer!
looks very good and thought out!
gonna try this
This is looking really good, I don't personally have the dexterity for precise movement that this looks like it needs I always love watching others play through kaizo hacks.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. It’s nice to hear that there are people out there who likes and wants to play it. Everything seen in the trailer isn’t 100% ready so there might be some changes here and there. In general I tried to make it something like a hybrid between a challenging plattformer and a simple Kaizo hack without fancy mechanics. I hope some people try the challenge although Kaizo isn’t their comfort zone #w{=3}
If someone has good ideas for bosses or is able to help me out with that would be super cool …. Otherwise this hack doesn’t have bosses which is a thing I personally don’t have a problem with. But what do you think, is a boss a must have?
What music you used in the SMW hack trailer?
