Falconpunch's Wario Land 4 tileset collection & releases (New graphics released for Day 3!)

GraphicsSuper Mario WorldResource ReleaseScreenshots

-Have you ever played Wario Land 4 and/or wanted to use its graphics in your hack?
-Do you want a better rip of all of the graphics in the game than what we have in the graphics section?
-Are you interested in making a hack where you don't mind much about the consequences of graphics space (including global graphics) if it means pretty and/or detailed foregrounds and backgrounds?

If you've answered "yes" to all, some, or none of these questions, then you've come to the right place.

For the past 6 months, instead of working on SMWCP2, I had the motivation to rip the graphics of Wario Land 4, one of my favorite games of all time. While some backgrounds are really light and easy to use, other backgrounds take up around 4-6 ExGFX files just to even use in full! And several of these tilesets also require a Sprite Status Bar patch to not have to deal with that dumb ol' Layer 3 status bar because of palettes.

I haven't also ripped every level's graphics in the game (not counting the miscelleanous stuff, which I will also do in the future), but I do have the majority of them in queue, ready to go or nearly done. So, without further ado, let's begin:

And that's what I've got thus far. I'm going to add more download pages once I finish the sample levels + Map16 assembly for that tileset and/or level, as I mainly focused on ripping the graphics without making the sample level.

(also, not to worry, we are still working on SMWCP2 even in Blind Devil's absense! It's just we lost motivation for a few months due to him leaving.)

EDIT 1: Day 2 submissions added (The Big Board and Palm Tree Paradise)!
EDIT 2: Day 3 submissions added (Wildflower Fields and The Toxic Landfill)
EDIT 3: Updated descriptions and stuff for the submissions I couldn't get done on time.
The rips are very good, and it's a great game I haven't played in many years. Nice work!

Chapter two: Land of No Shame
Coming January 2022
These all look really good, I think Domino Row is my favorite of the bunch.
Check out my WIP romhack!
Looks like you have put a lot of work into this, at first I was impressed with your list and wanted them all right away, but then I realized some are still wip. Regardless that's amazing works, I really like how Domino Row and Golden Passage turned out.

I wish you the best in completig the others, I'll come back on this thread to follow any updates.
DAY 2

Today I've finished ripping and uploading one level from Emerald Passage, and one from the Topaz Passage!

First up is Palm Tree Paradise, the first Emerald Passage level. I felt motivated to complete it because

First, the Foreground:

Then the background:

Next up is the Cave foreground and background, shared from both Palm Tree Paradise and Mystic Lake. They were related to the levels I was ripping, so naturally I had to rip it. Here you go!

Next up is, as I promised, The Big Board. From the start of the level to the Get a Goal ending, the level is all here, compiled as best as I could.

That's all I've got for now. I'll be working on submitting Wildflower Fields and The Toxic Landfill for Day 3, and if we're lucky, Hotel Horror. See you then!
I have nothing else to say now. Huh...
These are all great rips especially the fiery cavern and the alternative variations #smrpg{<3}

That's all I've got for now! Tomorrow I plan to release Arabian Night and Hotel Horror's assets, though the levels are a lot trickier than the ones I've already ripped, so wish me luck!
I have nothing else to say now. Huh...
I don't think I've played any of the Wario Land games before, but I could see myself using a lot of these sets, the Golden Passage and Fiery Cavern foregrounds in particular look great. Nice work so far, and looking forward to seeing the remaining rips!
I remember seeing those on discord from time to time and wondering if you were going to release them at some point. Some of them are gorgeous and given that you are actually releasing all of them I could see them being used in a single hack, which would make for a very good graphical consistency. Nice job!
Huge Warioland 4 fan and these would look absolutely fantastic in a full hack.

Never realised how clean and impressive Palm Tree Paradise looks - Great job!

You showcased these rips a lot of times and I am amazed how Wario Land 4 showcases how the GBA is powerful graphically, compared to the SNES. And yet, you managed to do fantastic tilesets like Pinball Zone and The Big Board. Fantastic work, I dare to say. #smrpg{:3}
I'm still rly hoping the new YI editor is gonna let me use these along with the baby Wario sprite. Can you imagine smashing through a toxic landfill style level with egg projectiles and stuff? It'd be awesome.
Thanks for the comments this C3, everybody! I may not have attracted a lot of attention, but I can at least be relieved that people are happy I am ripping these graphics so that people may use them in their own hacks.

I will have more levels out in the future, such as the more space-heavy backgrounds that are The Curious Factory and Monsoon Jungle, plus Mystic Lake.

So...see you all later!
I have nothing else to say now. Huh...
