Widescreen Hacks?

I was just wondering with the advent of widescreen snes hacks, will we gradually begin seeing widescreen SMW hacks moving forward? I ran a test to see if I could edit the SMW widescreen hack in Lunar Magic but it looks like adding the header required for Lunar Magic to work breaks the rom at the moment. I admit that I don't think I know enough about how the widescreen hack works, so I really have no idea how feasible full SMW hacks using the widescreen would be. I for one would love to make use of it however. I was never a big fan of the zoomed out cameras of NSMW(U) or even SMBX but I love the way widescreen looks for SMW. It allows for the player to have more information on screen without it feeling big and empty. Thoughts?

I'm personally not eager about such a future for two reasons: 1) widescreen is only compatible with one specific build of bsnes afaik, which is a problem specially to hardware players; 2) I'm very comfortable with SMW's screen size, and I actually dislike SMBX's way too expansive camera.

I guess a third one is I can see people incessantly asking for conversions and maintenance of resources with it - I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't care much about making any of my resources account for widescreen SMW.

That's just me though. I have actually seen a handful of people experimenting with it already. Maybe a hack or two will happen, at the very least.
I personally think that the way vanilla smw is is perfect. the spawning would be way different, and the effort needed would be too big to sustain a full scale hack

The handheld NSMBs are the best. šŸ˜€
SMW was designed for the SNES's original resolution. Since hacks are based on SMW, they too will mostly be designed for SNES resolution. I would say the realm of fullscreen hacks belongs more with N64.
While it may not be practical, I would personally love to experiment with this patch. By time, we as SMW Hackers may learn to design levels in such a way that they work in widescreen.
