Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.

  • Quality
    Player graphics are a major pain to replace, I can attest to that. However, you can't take too many shortcuts like copy-pasting the same tiles. It results in a rather bland character who doesn't meet our standards.


    Marie's mostly designed by replacing the head and keeping the body, but there are some problems. Frankly, I think that Marie could really use a nose, even just a single pixel somewhere.


    Faces tend to repeat themselves even if it doesn't quite work with the pose. If you don't want to inflate Marie, might I suggest putting her in a bubble instead?


    When going up a triangle block, she does this. By replacing these tiles with upright poses, you've decapitated her!


    Some poses look quite stiff because they don't have much going on. There's no falling pose except the jumping animation with the arm removed.


    Small-sized walking could do with some fixing so that her ear doesn't wiggle like crazy.


    The size of the head and hat when moving around on Yoshi could be fixed so that they stay the same size.


    And lastly, the head shifts around a bit when throwing fireballs. Not a big problem compared to a few things, but that's something worth fixing.
