SMWCentral Official Annual Music Tourney #1 2021 - end

Event

Oscar Peterson - Boogie Blues Etude
Tim Clarke & Christopher Stevens - Dreams

Mr. Peterson reminds me one of my musician heroes (Not Rudess, so guess who).
This set was cool. But here are my choices:

1- Cherry Filter - Flying Duck
2- Auxcide - The Resolute Heart

Best of luck everyon and stay peachy!
Auxcide - The Resolute Heart
Cherry Filter - Flying Duck
dreams - this is really good actually
spotlight - surprisingly catchy

-

flying duck - its ok. gets better in the second half
rain formerly known as purple - decent
resolute heart - good production but doesnt quite hit it for me
boogie blues etude - impressive but not something i would listen to

dia de caca - i guess its fine technically but i would never, ever listen to this
laa dee daa - this is like generic bland """sentimental""" facebook video background music, no thanks
soundcloud / bandcamp / twitter / buy/stream my EP / buy my touhou music
Jessie Ware - Spotlight (really liked this one)
Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple (yeah it's pretty good)

nothing else really grabbed me this time
Auxcide - The Resolute Heart

Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple
Auxcide - The Resolute Heart
Katie Malco - Laa Dee Daa

Nothing really stuck out here and it's all pretty close, so I might as well make unpopular votes for the hell of it. (I actually liked Laa Dee Daa!)

I really enjoyed the majority of these for their own merits, it's too bad two is the limit here.

1. Cherry Filter - Flying Duck
2. Oscar Peterson - Boogie Blues Etude
What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?
Oscar Peterson - Boogie Blues Etude
Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple
1. Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple (okay, yeah, now this is more like it for sure lol; wasn't sure if I wanted to pick this one or not, but thankfully the guitar solo managed to sell me in well enough, and unlike the other Chrissy Chris track, this was also interesting enough in the beginning for me, so the build-up ended up being far more effective. this is cool.)

2. Tim Clarke & Christopher Stevens - Dreams (why am I not surprised this song is from an edutainment game LMAO; anyway, this is cool and atmospheric, and I'm in that mood rn so fuck it, this fills my need well enough)

3. Jessie Ware - Spotlight (I'm surprised I liked this one as much as I did honestly; would've chosen this if it wasn't for, y'know, the other two tracks up above I guess)

4. Cherry Filter - Flying Duck (also very cool honestly, but yeah, like the above, it wasn't good enough to make the cut sadly)

5. Oscar Peterson - Boogie Blues Etude (honestly, this one is great to watch, but not as good for listening, which is kinda sad because I love this kinda improv jazz shit a lot, so it pains me that I have to put it this low)

6. BaianaSystem - Dia da Caça (essa música até que é boazinha, mas infezlimente não é boa o suficiente pra me pegar de jeito como as outras músicas, me desculpe #smrpg{ohno} I just wanted to speak some Portuguese for a bit okay)

7. Auxcide - The Resolute Heart (good, but not good enough, yada yada yada you know the drill by now)

8. Katie Malco - Laa Dee Daa (boring. that's all.)

Tim Clarke & Christopher Stevens - Dreams -- Never heard this before, but it still managed to completely suck me in and didn't let go. I love this. Actually, it looks like this was composed by the same guy (Timothy Steven Clarke) who did the music for the Tribes games, so that might explain a thing or two.
Oscar Peterson - Boogie Blues Etude
Jessie Ware - Spotlight
Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple
Auxcide - The Resolute Heart
BaianaSystem - Dia da Caça
Cherry Filter - Flying Duck
Katie Malco - Laa Dee Daa -- I usually like this style of sentimental/emotional music, but this one just didn't speak to me.

Cherry Filter - Flying Duck
Tim Clarke & Christopher Stevens - Dreams

Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple
Auxcide - The Resolute Heart

I respect the classic jazz pick with Boogie Blues Etude, but it didn't really capture my attention enough for me to consider it.
My choices are:
  1. Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple (from Risk of Rain 2)
(This got me like "WHAT IF IT WAS PURPLE?")
  2. Tim Clarke & Christopher Stevens - Dreams (from The Incredible Machine 3)
(Great song from—wait for it—an EDUTAINMENT GAME! Hoo boy!)

Honorable mention:
  • Katie Malco - Laa Dee Daa
(How would you feel after listening this?)

These songs are good, but...
“YAAAARGH!!! I can’t decide! I just can’t decide!!”
Panty and Stocking—and Pop Team Epic, evidently—are coming back. Once again. Yes, I'm counting on you. 『いけいけ団長、頑張れ頑張れ団長!』

“Even if you personally are so dissatisfied with life that you want the world to end, surely the cruel reality is that it will continue on, unchanging. All the better for someone perfectly content, like me.”
Aya Shameimaru, Touhou Suzunaan ~ Forbidden Scrollery
MY TWO CHOICES:

1. OSCAR PETERSON - BOOGIE BLUES ETUDE: That man was SUCH A TALENTED PIANIST!
2. AUXCIDE - THE RESOLUTE HEART

AND THE OTHER SONGS:
3. Tim Clarke & Christopher Stevens - Dreams
4. Chris Christodoulou - The Rain Formerly Known as Purple
5. Jessie Ware - Spotlight
6. Laa Dee Daa
7. Cherry Filter - Flying Duck
8. BaianaSystem - Dia da Caça
