Lee Nicklen - Track 2 [Small Fry]
Chick Corea - Encore (Live)
Haircut 100 - Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl) (music i'd jam with my dad)
Kohta Takahashi - Night Stream (this is the good shit)

really strong set, zts and chick corea were very close runners-up
MY TWO CHOICES:

PERFECT!!
1. zts - Resurrected Replayer
2. Hiroto Saitoh - Fellow Soldier

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

GREAT!
3. Haircut 100 - Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)
4. Kohta Takahashi - Night Stream
5. SuganoMusic feat. Renko - Lonely City Lights (Densha de D version)

AND THE OTHER SONGS:

GooD
6. Lee Nicklen - Track 2 [Small Fry]

ALMOST
7. Chick Corea - Encore (Live)

Boo!
8. Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars
1. Chick Corea - Encore (Live) (my nomination. ngl, I got this one recommended to me by a friend of mine a while ago, and honestly this still makes me laugh at how ridiculously good this is; in fact, it was so good, I even made a Twitter post gushing about it the moment I listened to this the first time, just an all around great performance haha)

2. zts - Resurrected Replayer (damn, nice, I love trance stuff like this lol; the intro in particular with that saw coupled by the phaser effect and those little chimes are very cool, and I'm definitely digging some of the classical influence with the harpsichord and violin as well, melody is fairly nice and melancholic, just the way I like my lead melodies, pretty cool shit haha)

3. Kohta Takahashi - Night Stream (this was also extremely cool IMO, but sadly the Umineko track just impressed me a lil bit more; still tho, damn nice breakbeat shit #smrpg{cool})

4. Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars (honestly, I liked this quite a bit, despite the fact I'm in a really big hurry to post this and the longer length certainly not helping things out lol; the erhu was quite nicely used here, and in general it's certainly very nice metal, but yeah, it wasn't as good to vote for sadly)

5. Hiroto Saitoh - Fellow Soldier (not too bad I suppose, I don't know much about Hiroto Saitoh outside of some of the stuff he did for Ginga Force (which you should listen to btw, very cool soundtrack), but this sounds fairly cool, though it definitely drags on a little bit IMO; doesn't help that this is an extended upload either #smrpg{ohno})

6. Haircut 100 - Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl) (enjoyed this a bit more than I was expecting I suppose; but otherwise, not that remarkable sadly)

7. SuganoMusic feat. Renko - Lonely City Lights (Densha de D version) (funny eurobeat track. not too bad, but it deinitely drags on quite a bit)

8. Lee Nicklen - Track 2 [Small Fry] (just didn't think too much about this one LOL)

Chick Corea - Encore (Live)
Hiroto Saitoh - Fellow Soldier

Too many good songs this set, this was a tough one but a good listen. In the end I gotta stick to my pick and some classic jazz though.

Everything Everything - MY KZ, UR BF
Clark (ft. Martina Topley-Bird) - Secret

REALLY good set; this is the best one we've had in a while. Every song here was at least decent...well, almost every song.

1. Clark (ft. Martina Topley-Bird) - Secret: Dang, this is awesome. Easily one of my favorite songs in this tourney. I have absolutely no idea what genre you'd call this, but can I get more of it please
2. Frums - Credits EX [BOFU 2015]: I'm actually already familiar with Frums (particularly their song Dropdead, which is very good, if a bit...out there). This song takes a while to get going, but I really like it overall. It somehow manages to be repetitive without getting boring or annoying.
---------------
3. Everything Everything - MY KZ, UR BF: I didn't like this at first, but it started to grow on me as it went on. Overall, it's really good. Also dang I didn't know Pete Davidson could sing
4. Takahiro Unisuga - Desert After Tears: I generally haven't been that impressed by the Ys songs in this tourney, but this one's good.
5. Immortal Technique - The Poverty of Philosophy: This is really more of a spoken word piece than a song. I think it's good and I agree with the message, but it's not something I would go out of my way to listen to.
6. Thomas Bergersen - Immortal: I kinda liked some parts of this, but overall it just sounds like movie trailer music
7. Hans Zimmer - Chevaliers de Sangreal: Same as #6 except it's part of a movie score instead
8. Markiplier - Warm-up REMIX: Look, I was gonna think of some wacky joke to comment with, but this song is too awful for me to not acknowledge how awful it is. See, a small part of me was hoping this would actually be decent, since I've heard/seen quite a few YouTuber remixes by people like Master Sword that I thought were at least entertaining to watch and to listen to (even if they're not great for casual listening). Even that Rock My Marions song a few sets back was like a guilty pleasure to me. THIS, on the other hand, is just obnoxious and unfunny, and it doesn't seem like very much effort was put into it. The 9+10=21 trap remix was better than this. The Furby song was better than this. There's no pleasure here, there's just guilt

Thomas Bergersen - Immortal

Now that I've started working, I won't be able to be as active as before. This is really very sad and depressing for me.

Honorable mention:
Frums - Credits EX [BOFU 2015] // was hard to let this one go but ultimately, Everything everything was just so pleasant and refreshing to me.

I've missed quite the number of sets since October. I need to backtrack and to add all these songs to my playlist. I saw my Black Bomb A - Double, has received 0 votes, sad.

Everything Everything - MY KZ, UR BF
Takahiro Unisuga - Desert After Tears

Wow, really nice set. In the end, I had to go for the song with a really cool 4-chord bridge and odd syncopation as well as the cool VGM rock/fusion with some of those classic JRPG chord progressions going on.

1. Everything Everything - MY KZ, UR BF: Pretty neat indie song. The dynamic vocals drive this song.

2. Hans Zimmer - Chevaliers de Sangreal: This one feels similar to Immortal but it's significantly softer and more measured. The strings in this particularly are very nice. I've never seen The DaVinci Code but this tune kinda makes me want to watch it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Markiplier - Warm-up REMIX: That was definitely Mark.

Immortal Technique - The Poverty of Philosophy: I'm a simple man. I see commmunist iconography, I click off.

Thomas Bergersen - Immortal: Very large sounding tune. All of the reverb on the percussion and vocals make it seem like you are in a crowded concert hall listening to this live. It's really cool actually.

Frums - Credits EX [BOFU 2015]: Not sure what all the hype is surrounding this one.

Takahiro Unisuga - Desert After Tears: Shout out to the lead guitar part combined with the piano. This is a classic action track out of a Japanese video game.

Clark (ft. Martina Topley-Bird) - Secret: This sounds experimental. There's nothing wrong with it, but I had a hard time getting into it. The vocals were interesting, but the distorted back beat throws me off a bit.

Frums - Credits EX [BOFU 2015] (actually good)
Clark (ft. Martina Topley-Bird) - Secret (I guess...really only voting for this cuz I felt it'd be less embarrassing than voting for history channel music)
