Home Office during COVID-19 pandemic

I know that i made a COVID-19 pandemic thread, but this is about home office.
Anyone had worked at home in the computer? I mean, job in computer.
COVID-19 gave us a lot of time in home in the computer.
What are you doing now?
Eh. Most people have gotten used to home office as the most sporadic way to work thanks to the pandemic.

I'm currently working as a product reseller (I think I mentioned this in another thread), and so far, it's going great.

--------------------
I went through a few stages of "home office" throughout the pandemic.

When Covid started, my cousin and I were living together. His office was the coffee table, mine was the dining room table. This was okay for a few weeks because both of us thought this would be done in a few weeks.

Then, I changed jobs and started a position where I handled a lot of private, sensitive information while also taking phone calls. So, I had to move my home office into my bedroom and close the door most days. This was living hell - I felt like I was sleeping in the office, not working from home.

I changed positions again a few months later, and I moved to my own apartment at the same time (cousin moved in with his girlfriend). This setup is better, with my personal computer in one corner of the room, and my work computer on the other side.

When I visit my parents, I have another home office setup at their place, which my mother and I sometimes share.

I'm about to move again (I appear to live an itinerate lifestyle) and will have a new home office setup at the new place.

I can't find the words to express how much I miss working in the office, I really can't.
I'm still working from home since March 2020. I completely hated it at first, the isolation really sucked. I can't exactly say that I like it now, but I no longer mind it. We've become pretty productive working remotely.

There don't seem to be any plans for a full-time return to office with my company. Our previous office space was vacated to save money, and they are trying to find some type of new space for people who want to go back into an office setting, but I don't think it'll be a requirement. A few people went into one of our temporary office spaces a couple weeks ago and it didn't seem particularly useful. They all just crammed themselves into a dreary conference room and did their individual work on their laptops, which they could've easily done from home.

I do miss the fun office events and perks we used to have. Sucks that it's part of the past now. But not much you can do.
I have been enjoying working from home. I didn't have a problem with working from the office really, but now I don't have to worry about getting up early or having to commute an hour or hour and a half every day. It's also given me more free time to go out and exercise which previously I haven't had as much time for. And now that I'm properly set up remotely it makes it easier to visit family in another state, as I don't have to use up precious vacation time.

So far there hasn't been any signs of having to go back to the office (last date was sometime October but that's already been pushed back to who knows when), and hopefully there will be some remote flexibility if we ever go back to pre-2020 normalcy.
For me, it's been both good and bad. I love not wasting an hour to traffic each day, saving a lot of money buying food, being able to just order stuff to my home adress without problems, even being able to finish work earlier on many days (since not having to travel means I can start working earlier).

On the other hand, both my physical and mental health have suffered greatly as a result of the home office. My physical health because I just don't have a great work place at home, and all my efforts to change that so far have failed (I got a new chair and even started going on regular walks recently, but the chair turned out to be unusable for me, and the walks started to get boring quickly, because there's not many interesting places left to visit without taking a train). My mental health because my work place and my home have now more or less become the same thing, which makes it difficult to dissociate from work. This is especially true with work this year being super, super stressful, thus forcing me to think about it a lot. I'm basically at a point where my PC feels like my work machine and no longer like my hobby machine, and having to program games for work on it every day robs me of all motivation to program anything for fun, because it'll just feel like extended work. I mean, I was already having big motivational problems before, anyways, but this issue has basically brought my motivation to absolute zero.

For all these reasons, I want to return to at least some form of office work ASAP and will probably do so before the end of the year. I already renewed my subscription for a train ticket (which I had cancelled at some point in 2020), so I'm basically all set to start going to work again. Nevertheless, I'll probably be keeping a day of home office a week even "after" the pandemic. It's just too practical, and I imagine with just one day of home office per week, maybe it won't affect me as negatively. Home office has technically been possible for us from the very beginning (that's, since I joined in 2014). However, I didn't make extensive use of it until 2020. My boss used to have one day of home office work each week, even before the pandemic, so I will likely start doing the same at some point.
